I just noticed this now when I went to use the land store in FireFox which doesn't remember my password. You have to fill in another box with the letters in one of those screwed up letter pictures.
When did this start?
I kinda hate those things, I can't get some of the letters half the time, is that a lower case 'r' with a line through it or is it a lower case 'f'?
I'm glad to see LL stepping up some security on the site and stopping bots from logging in though.

I don't know but it's screwed up for me, even if I put in the wrong thing it shows me as logged in even though it says incorrect username or pass, and if I put in the right thing then it's the same, seems like some sort of bug but one that I'm happy for if it means I can just ignore the stupid captcha every time since it's just an utter annoyance. _____________________

Given the last blog post, I think it's evidence of automated bots using a dictionary attack against the login form to guess passwords .Yup, and LL should've applied this login a long time ago. But better late then never. Mandy C _____________________

I have no real problems with this new login.... except from the fact that it took me 3 times to get those letters correct (passwords and alike are not saved here on my notebook).

This could have been avoided if Linden Labs had not used your in world name as your Username for your account.
Some botters have pointed out its possible to automate reading of those scrambled characters. I dont know how effective it would be - but that has been pointed out. |

It's taking me over a dozen tries to log in. A dozen different capcha images.
