In the light of the adult changes and the fact that information keeps changing and or disappearing we have placed a wiki on the url below for people to contribute and store pages on regarding all these adult changes call it a historical repository lol Several people asked for a place to store information for future reference and we felt it would be a good idea.

http://www.slapt.me/wiki/

I still need anyone willing to help administer it and maybe help some of the new folks contribute and that includes me as i am now in learning mode lol

It is housed on our own servers and will be part of an on going project. It will continue to remain there indefinitely and we would like to think it may develop as an independent archive as time progresses as so much gets lost on the servers here ;)

If you can help out on this project please email me or PM me here and we will sort out admin rights etc.

Create your account at the top of the wiki main page and thank you in advance for all and any help in building it into an independent archive.

What's the meaning behind this? Is someone deleting information from the real wiki? Because, seriously, why not just put whatever you want on the actual SL wiki instead of some random third party location?

It was a comment I made about having an archive outside Linden Labs webspace, because there's been a number of Linden Labs services that have vanished or changed and information about the history of SL had been lost. If you want to look something up on the old blog, or the old feature request system, or earlier versions of SL web pages, support articles, or ToS... you can't. I had no intention of implying that LL was going to deliberately rewrite history or anything like that.

Then the smart response, to my mind, is to put all this stuff on the real wiki and mirror it regularly. If it ever vanishes we'll worry about recreating it somewhere else.

It fits in with what we are planning anyways in the long term and seems a good idea and gives people a place to post things for historical purposes, its server space i have spare on one of our servers, so it costs me nothing to do it lol

Lord,
Mari and I were working on the original SL History wiki, and it got merged into some stupid humongo wiki encompassing all MMORPGs out there, and the pages were hopelessly tangled, the links deleted, etc. I'll volunteer to help as long as you promise not to do that. :p

The list of adult keywords known to be filtered in the 1.23 viewer was deleted.

This cannot happen on your wiki?

I thought the very nature of a 'wiki' made it vulnerable to this?

In a proper wiki when data is deleted it's called vandalism and is easy to revert. Now we're in a situation where LL can punish anyone who restores this page. I'm not concerned about Lord banning me from SL so I would fight any censorship attempts.

A few spokes people need to go to the press, LL are hurting people financially and encouraging kids into mature and adult sex areas.

I read a bit tonight and many reports have LL touted as "cleaning up the mess" somewhere it said it was akin to Mayor Guliani when he had the zero tolerance thing going on in NYC etc.. There was a total gloss over of all people are concerned about.

The ripp off and danger to children in partial ways won't sit well with the left or the right for their various reasons.

Not tracelessly. Look at the history tab.
