Realising after about 30 minutes into a business meeting with about 10 strangers, that there was a shoe stuck in my croutch, which has a invisible prim shape, on closer view (once pointed out to me via IM), looked like a codpeice.... I brushed it off by saying how excited I was to be there in such distinguished company.... :o

LOL, been there, done that! Sometimes my hair too... lol. Usually detaching and reattaching fixes it for me, but sometimes it goes right back to the crotch. I think the attachment points are getting lost somewhere, and the attachments revert to <0,0,0> relative to the avie.

I was standing in my SL house fitting a prim skirt when someone passed me a RL picture and somehow I applied it all over my 30x30 floor. This would not have been a big deal except the picture was of a man whom I did not know well - nor did I wish to know any better (this was before you could accept or decline a texture or notecard) - and he was um, not fully clothed.

My RL boyfriend was traveling and logged into SL to say HI to me...As I was still new, I didn't know how the hell to fix the floor! He was not happy in the slightest lol.

Wow, that's really supremely bad timing!

I know it's only Second Life...but I cringe remembering flying into an Event I saw in Search...thinking how cool of me to actually use the search engine properly...and apparently, landing on the stage. I remember someone saying "is she the next act?" and some jerk saying "ma'm , ma'm, get off the stage." I flew out of there, all red faced. ARRRghhh!

Great thread. I am the mistell queen. Embarrassing IMs happen with me so often my friends have come to expect it from me. (Oh, I also frequently select the wrong person in my friends list when teleporting.)

Another all-too-frequent embarrassment results from the fact that I wear a lot of black, that most of the harnesses for my strap-ons are black, and that most of the time in SL you only see your avatar from behind. I'll go shopping with my friends and only remember I'm still wearing a strap-on harness when strangers walk up to me and exclaim, "Ooh!" I get so mad- it's like in real life when you're having lunch with your friends and you get a little food on your face AND NO ONE MENTIONS IT so you're stuck looking like an idiot until you see yourself in the bathroom mirror. So- if any of you see me wagging a strap-on around at the mall, please tell me. I assure you it's unintentional.

But the single most mortifying individual event I've had in SL was a year-and-a-half ago when I was shopping for a certain BDSM device. I followed a Teleport link in a certain designer's Picks, but discovered- the hard way- that her Picks were sorely out-of-date. Instead of TPing into a dark, secluded sex shop, I was standing on the back deck of a famous SLer's private home, in the middle of a gathering of SL notables, wearing a very revealing costume and even more humiliating group tag. I couldn't hit CTRL-SHIFT-H fast enough. Of course that took me to my (PG) Welcome Area. :o (Thank god it was an alt.)

Heres one for you Wilde..(and yes Luci has sent me IMs for Josh so I know that one). Yours was just a strapon, but I was doing busines son my female account (well known, not alt), and I logged off. The next day I forgot she still had the (erect) male bit on..

So I walk around Toxia dressed all dark and menacing..on my female account..with the 'bit' poking out for all to see (and dripping). Noone told me for over an hour.

Also there the time you ran into me at the certain 'bliss' place. I was embarassed as hell because I was exploring that side of myself and trying to think as a woman and covered with meeting someone..

There was a big button of red,
with a sign "push it your dead"
I can't resist it you yell,
but only buzzers and bell,
and at least your not turned to brown bread.
