Ok . . . I am now officially a little embarrassed about my participation in this thread, which is definitely starting to look like a pile-on.

That's not accusatory: no one who has posted here is more guilty of contributing to that effect than I. But I'm backing off this one now, having said more than enough on the subject.

While I don't particularly want Pep back here, I hope he and his loved ones are well, and that his absence here is not caused by anything very upsetting or disturbing in his RL.

And I apologize to Jig for what has really become a massive derail. Jig, for her own reasons, began this post because she does sincerely miss Pep. And I respect that, even if I don't really understand it.

Oh Phil, I know this as I was one of those folks that contemplated about leaving. But irl, I don't punk down to anyone. So.... why should I be any different in here. I just choose to ignore him.

I'm just sorry he got so under their skin that they felt it was their only choice. Even, if it was/is for a little while. That saddens me because that same individual causing that level of frustration with their words could use their tool to be inspirational and motivational.

hmm... I can't say that I understand that but I'll give two responses...

(1) I'll pass it on to my bots and maybe they'll take back everything bad that they said about you

(2) Either you misunderstood my post, or I misunderstood yours.

The inworld group shows that he is still logging into SL, so it is anyone's guess as to why he is not posting here or at SCII.

It came up in a thread not long ago, where it was stated that certain people had left here because of him. I was quite prominent in the thread and I got an IM from someone who hadn't been mentioned, saying that they (2 of them) had also left here because of him.

I rather enjoyed his posts. I never took anything he said personally (although I was never a target). I think he was putting on an act more than anything else, and quite well done.

If you're going to have asshats, at least let them be entertaining

You don't like Pep; all you're doing is saying so. Don't feel guilty about expressing yourself simply because almost nobody else likes him either. That's his fault, not yours.

As for Jig - she's pretty hip; I don't think she's embarrassed.

No. He reminds me of a schoolteacher when I was in boarding school. The math teacher. Sarcastic Welshman. They're a recognised breed of that nation.

That kinda thing. All girls prep kinda school. We loved him very much. No I am not his a;t but I sincerely wish him well.(I wonder if peopel will speak fondly of me when I m gone?)

And there's two things I have never known in my life - absolutely god's truth - and they are embarrassment and shyness which is why my school specialized in performing arts and teh exhibition and expression of performance arts and I'd better shut up or you'll guess where I went to school.

So secretly, I love Pep and just cos he ignores me doesnt mean I dont love him all the more.

I hate to jump on this bandwagon, but I see I am in good company.

Whether the timbre of a post is an act or not, my RL is too filled with confrontation to put up with that tripe in my down time. So I left the never-ending thread which I used to enjoy very much. I very nearly left these forums too - I certainly cut way back which probably is not a bad thing in retrospect.

Still I will never regret the interesting and diverse people I've come to know through this medium. No epic failure of a dysfunctional dweeb can ever really ruin that.

Lolz no that was just teasing. Anyway, he was Welsh. And I was a little too uncool that day. What always got me was that we were always addressed by our last name and that got extremely impersonal. You really wished they would use your first name, you know what I mean?

And I want Pep back. I really miss him. He just said it like it was with a twist of acidity. Kinda liek a Cardiff Martini.

Sometimes he posted as you described, but his posts are frequently just plain nasty for the sake of being nasty.

Notice I used the present tense because I've no doubt that he hasn't left this forum.

I think he treated many peole here badly indeed. He traeted me very badly too and spoke harshly of me and my intelligence an dthere is no denying I was hurt. But people banded together like they woud with a school bully. I got sharp rebukes via his setting the way. People just didnt liek it when he turned on them also. They didnt mind if the class clown got razzed - they just didnt want themselves to be in the spotlight.

He was a bully but in an odd way I loved him all the same.
Kinda like King Lear and his Fool syndrome.

Heh. Me either. I tried taking a break but no one noticed...it wasn't WHY I took a break but it was interesting all the same.

I often notice when someone posts after being away a while though but don't say anything. RL happens.

It's (just after) the holidays; maybe he is tuckered out. I know I am. But I still find the forums a nice way to unwind.
