as far as the router goes, can you try using an ethernet connection to your router jsut when playing SL and see if it stabilizes your experience? i know that defeats the purpose of a wireless, but it wouldn't keep you from using wireless while NOT on SL.

From: Kira Cuddihy /me is getting even more confused. So it probably has a little to do with both? There are other issues with SL that one can have because one's computer is too old or to weak, or with bad drivers, etc, or one's internet connection is spotty, but the memory issue in SL is not solved by having the best computer and best internet connection.

From: Rebecca Proudhon Guess what? Haviing the best, most powerful (pc) computer money can buy doesn't solve it. Its SL. Absolutely! But having a fat powerful computer delays the inevitable. LL's client borgs memory. If the client isn't going to be fixed any time soon, throwing more memory at it is an option. One just makes a judgement on cost/benefit. Freudian typos: I originally mistyped as "... borks memory"
