just now i tried 2 log in 2 SL and i use the Windlight client, and now its forcing me to "update" to the release candidate, wich to my knowledge isnt windlight!!!
is there a way to bypass the check?

Yeah the new RC 1.19.1 replaces WL.

Ctrl-Shft-s should bring up the little dialog window for taking a picture and then, to see what we have seen for the last year or more, now you have to look for the "More>" button and click it. At least, that's how today's Release Candidate worked for me in taking a picture to disk. Did someone ask for "More>"? I know I didn't. FFS, LL!!

I certainly didn't ask for MORE-> but hey, with every viewer release there is so many changes that it just keeps you online for a while till you figured most of it out

I clicked the postcard button just to see if that would light up save and it did. So I clicked on disk button again, then it worked. Yuck! |

One of the disadvantages of doing this testing is that we're working with test software - so I guess I expected to find stuff getting reset as I updated versions. Fun to play with but I never did anything critical using it. Used to log in to the supported release one for important transactions, etc.
I'm also expecting a new raft of complaints from people who realise that Windlight won't work on their computer properly ("yes I KNOW it's not supported but it worked before Windlight! Windlight is crap!"...) which will be NOTHING compared to what happens when it becomes the official release and all that is available. *shudder* _____________________

I guess I wasn't specific enough. I already have pictures I want to upload, and have done this many times before. File>Save Texture As....click click done. In fact earlier this morning I saved a few to my computer and was looking to do more.
Since the new RC download, the Save Texture As... option is not available. It is on the regular viewer, so I'm good now. I was wondering if there was a setting that might have been reverted back since the update. Like I said, I managed a workaround...so no biggie.  |
