I currently am renting a house and now i have found that special someone. I want to add her to have access to my place and be able to edit anything in the house. I can't find anything on how to add her...please help. Is this even possible?

I currently am renting a house and now i have found that special someone. I want to add her to have access to my place and be able to edit anything in the house. I can't find anything on how to add her...please help. Is this even possible? One way is to create a group and deed the land to the group (I believe info on that is stickied above), that can give her access to certain abilities and privileges. Then also, give her modify rights to your objects if you trust her that much, then she can mod anything of yours EDIT:: Didn't see the rented land bit sorry, so all you can do probably is just give her mod rights to your objects, however.. as said. ONLY IF YOU TRUST HER COMPLETELY! This will give her rights to every object you own and have rezzed. _____________________

I can't find anything on how to add her...please help. Is this even possible? Hi Radar, You need to give her the right to edit your objects. You can do this in your friends;ost by clicking under one of the boxy pictures. Then she will be able to edit all your objects. As to adding her to an access list to your property, I'm presuming you need to get i touch with your landlord for that. But I'm sure someone will correct me shortly. Good luck ![]() _____________________

Bear in mind, ALL your objects! I don't think you can deed rented land to a group, but as Sally says you can probably talk to your landlord, so your loved one can set home there.
Love is great, eh. Have fun! _____________________

Keep in mind that granting modify rights also grants the ability for that person to take anything you own and have rezzed that's transfer (the same is true for "Share with Group"
.Furthermore, mod rights also gives the other party the ability to drop anything they want into the inventory of mod prims (worst case would be for that person to drop an eavesdropping script into a child prim of one of your couches/walls). Be extremely careful of who you grant mod rights to. Personally, I'd grand mod rights to an alt and noone else, no matter how much I trust them right now, things can change very quickly. |

I was under the impression that if you "deleted" something of another that you had control over, it merely returned to their inventory's lost and found file?

Ok...maybe i should re-phrase my question...maybe i don't want her to be able to edit everything. We just want her to be able to make my home hers and add things if she likes to.
Thanks for all your replies. |

Thanks for all your replies. Then most likely when you rented your home you joined a group. Im your landlord and ask him/her to add your partner to the group and allow her to rez objects. Remember, she'll probably have to wear a group tag like you do |

Same advice for RL. Be extremely careful to whom you give your key to. They might eat everything in the fridge and never leave...

I had to leave the country - and stop filling the fridge - to get rid of him. I hear he's been through quite a few fridges since. _____________________

Yep, too true. Whatever happened to trust, eh? My partner, Mistress, and girls all have mod rights to my objects.... and full access to my land I trust them.. though I probably shouldn't give them that much chance to do something by accident lol _____________________

That's so funny 'cause I actually bought a one-way plane ticket to the person I was thinking about. I told him I would join him later on... LOL I wonder if it's the same person, (the ticket was to Paris where his family lived.) The money I saved in food and utilities more than covered the cost. There is ALWAYS a sollution, heheh |

Well, the owner of the land (and house) can add her to the access list, all you would have to do is ask the owner to do so, and I am sure they would oblige. You on the other hand, if you trust her with your life (and I am not online at the moment to verify the path I am quoting so give me a chance to verify this tonight) Go to Communicate>select her in your friends list>there are three radial buttons below all the names>select 'able to edit all my objects' and wallah! She will own you, Mr. Slave.
She will then be able to adjust your (ehem) private areas to line up with hers if she’s better at editing than you. She can even adjust your hair to get rid of that gaud awful bald spot! Really hope that helps! _____________________

She can even adjust your hair to get rid of that gaud awful bald spot! Only if she wears the hair herself ![]() Seriously, no matter what the mutual permissions are, you cannot edit prims that someone else is wearing. _____________________

That would be cool in some situations though.. A designer custom tailoring things to people ![]() Oh I could have used that myself when I gave a friend a skirt I'd made. She's 7' tall and well I'm not. She wasn't very good at editing stuff at that point. Would have been very useful if I could have done it for her. Having said that, given that people often forget to take these permissions away when they're no longer needed, probably just as well you can't. Wouldn't like a friend to accidentally cut my pigtails off ![]() _____________________

When one of my tenants finds a special someone, I just add him/her to the group for the parcel at the basic level. She can set home and create and edit objects. The renter has another tier of rights including setting media and editing terrain.
Works perfectly! Just ask your landlord and she/he will have what they really need: a place to call home and share with you and the right to put up some curtains. |

How true, how true... however I DID adjust two lovely ladies hair last night after they handed over edit rights to me. the trick is for them to place the item in fron of us so that I could edit it. (I tried editing the hair on one of them while still on her head, and no go) though her placing it on the ground works.... _____________________

Loophole in my theory ![]() Ideally I guess, they'd put the hair out and then drag it up to their heads, while standing on a posestand. Bald in front of a stranger ![]() _____________________

You certainbly can deed rented land to a group - but the sim owner must do it on your behalf. Use the following steps: 1. Create a group 2. Invite your sim owner to the group as owner (or officer with deeding perms added) 3. Ask the sim owner to deed the land to the group 4. Ask the sim owner to leave the group Yes, but what I meant was that a renter cannot deed rented land to a group. _____________________
