I can't vote. The question seems a little vague. Is the question: "How many unique active human beings participate in SecondLife regularly?" I'd guess 3x the max concurrency. (I'd say 4x or 5x if it weren't for the clusters of alt-camper-bots) or is the question "How many unique humans have SecondLife avatars that are usable, whether they use them or not?" I'd guess probably close to 4 million (we're well past 10 million registered resident names I'm sure). Guestimating wildly: I figure of the name pool is three roughly similar sized chunks: Alts, Primaries and Tourists-that-never-came-back.

Nobody outside the office could possibly work this out as too much conflicting data hides the real numbers. That evidence is in the thread replies.

So guess on peeps.
My guess. About 100-150 K of regular users. Equates to less than a 2% retention rate.
Hmm. now thats bad.
