Ok, this is getting ridiculous and a bit disturbing.

When you last tuned in, a Pillow Talk animated pillow had disappeared from our home. I followed all the suggestions for locating it (all documented in my former post).

Submitted a ticket and received the canned reply of all the ways to recover lost inventory. And with that bit of useless info, the ticket was closed.

I reopened the ticket and RE-explained this was NOT inventory missing but an in world rezzed item. Received a reply listing all the items in my inventory that begin with *Pillow Talk* (I buy a lot of things there) and since it was not in my inventory the person answering my ticket couldn't help. Ticket closed.

/me bangs head on wall

Wellllllllll.....this afternoon, guess what? ANOTHER item in our home vanished - this time a piece of furniture. Fortunately this time it was a copy item so we could just rez another, but...what if it had been one of our no-copy more expensive pieces of furniture?

We have a message in to our landlord to see if he's heard of anything like this or if it could be something wacky related to the sim.

Is this something that I should open a jira for?

/heads out to nail everything in our house down

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

If you have a premium account, try submitting this issue to a live chat session, rather than support tickets. My experience, and the experience of many people, is that support tickets are a waste of time, while live chat is often helpful.

yesterday I logged in and thought something was different in my house..and I just couldn't place it.. so I brushed it off to different lighting (ROFL) and went on about my day... well fast forward to last night when I was rearranging some things for a special evening and it suddenly hit me that.. my fireplace was gone!!! Now, I didn't take it up and I searched and searched through my inventory... just in case last weekends party effects lol resulted in me taking things I had forgotten about :P.. but it wasn't there either.

I searched around the house.. the property.. nothing.. it's just...gone. WTFrench! That is the second time something has just vanished into the clear blue yonder. A few weeks ago I rezzed an outfit I bought to take it into my inventory and it just went POOF.. I still haven't found it.

I wanna know who took my fireplace! Probably the same person wearing my outfit...

Yep, checked the 0,0,0 co-ords - plus took a prim finder with me there too.

Now it's not safe to have inventory anywhere...sheesh :(

Gah, I am sorry to hear that 3Ring :(

So, items go missing from inventory....items won't rez (although that issue had a jira and *seemed* to be getting better), and/or get disappear when trying to be rezzed, now items are poofing from in world.

I'm starting to feel like I should wear my inventory.

Thanks, Amity...will do that. I just became Premium a few weeks ago, but I'm seeing the support tickets don't seem to do much.

Ok, so this *is* happening to others. I was wondering if it was an issue just in my sim or something.

On my previous post, a fireplace and chimney had appeared mysteriously on someone else's property - maybe that one is yours. ;)

Personally I think you're on the right track...there's someone going around taking just a lil bit here and a lil bit there and pretty soon will have a nice furnished house and great wardrobe...lol.

only time I have seen this happen and it sucks is when the parcel gets full and returns things, even when set to the right group.

Ok..ya SURE the fireplace is all paid for? Maybe they sent a repo man while you were gone! Seriously though...I am always discovering things I put down missing at some point. I thought it was just me. You think SL can reach into my RL and that is why my keys always turn up missing?????

I know there has been a weird bug lately with picked up or deleted items from in world not showing on the ground but still being physically there. (they do not show with highlight transparent)

I wonder if there is a relationship between the problems. SIm restart fixes the invisible ghosts

That's called a "Ghost Prim" n' it's a very old bug that they can't or won't fix. A sim restart is the only way ta remove 'em I know of.

The old bug you could still see the prim. This one you cant see but its still there physically. Thats a fair recent development.

I agree. This doesn't sound like the issue where you try and place an item, it fails to rez, but it doesn't appear back in your inventory either.

This is when an existing item inworld appears to vanish but is still there in 'ghost' form.

It goes invisible (truly invisible, not just transparent and not phantom) and some reports have come in that the item sometimes moves from it's original position to another parcel nearby. If it moves then you may be lucky and it might get returned via autoreturn.

*whistles the X-files theme tune*

It sounds from feedback from this thread and the other that a sim restart is the only way to fix ghosted prims.

Try raising a support ticket using the phrase 'ghosted prims' and ask specifically for a sim restart. I think the support guys are mixing this issue up with the other issue of objects disappearing when you try and rez them and it fails.

Hope this helps and you get your stuff back!

Thanks Min :)

It didn't sound like the ticket support group ever got a handle on the issue. Will give your idea a go.

Second Inventory doesn't need to advertise with all these lost inventory problems in the forums.

QFT!

Last night a member of one of the larger groups I'm in sent out a group notice to be very careful about detaching any items from avatars or rezzing anything as she lost 60K worth of items yesterday. She said she was on the phone with support as she was posting but it didn't sound like they were going to be able to recover any of her items. :(

(I submitted another ticket referencing "ghosted prims" per Min's suggestion. Waiting for a response to that one but not holding my breath.)

I can't seem to find my official SL guide today, can't recall where I laid it. The bug is reaching into RL now, apparantly ...

Actually it likely has to do with this thread:

/327/43/265005/1.html

LL has been removing stolen content from in world, apparently. If you item was made by Loni Arado, or another AV who's name I forget, that's why it poofed.
