Why isn't there a way to place a person into a favorites list? Or does it exist and I'm just ignorant to that fact.
Because it'd be great if you come across someone who has a talent that you'd like to use in the future.
Will our 'private' notes be searchable in the future? Why place a note on a person, if you can't find them again without making a list of their name on Word.

You can request someone's calling card and keep it in your calling card folder. I'm not sure if you have to add them to get their card. Only you can see what you put in the notes section about an avatar.

You don't have to add them to get their card. If you do add them, you get the card automatically, but they can just give you the card.
Right click on the avatar you want to give the card to, hit more, give card. Erm...I think. Work through the pie menu. Sorry. Rotary engine. Whatever. Just goof with it until you see the option to give someone your card.

It would be nice if we could add a small comment next to the name of a person or some groups: friends, bussiness contacts, ..., ....
And a sign or an other color for the nametag if someone is on you friends list. i have so many friends / potentional customers / existing customers in my friends list that i sometimes don't notice a friend/contact close to me.

there's nothing to stop you organizing your calling cards folder.. create useful names like "Business Contacts", "Customers", "Axe-wielding psychos" and then just drag the cards into those folders. It's helped me keep track of who is who that isn't on my friends list.... I tend to supplement that with profile notes, describing things in more detail. Then I can go to my Calling Cards folder, see the names in rough categories, and then get the profiles with the notes up whenever I want.

Not knowing enough about scripting, I don't even know if this is possible. But this seems like it would be a group of useful functions to create a HUD for--one that you could stick your CC's in to sort, add annotations, etc.

All great ideas. I guess I'll start asking people for calling cards, add my notes and then sort them in folders.

You *can* add comments to a profile to let you know whatever it is you want to remember. I think it's the last tab in the profile.

This subject comes up regularly.
I hate calling cards and don't find them useful at all so that is not an option for me. I just delete the damn things.
Unfortunately there is currently not a way to separate friends from acquaintances at this time.

From: Bradley Bracken AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! /me laughs hysterically and high fives Kalderi. Actually, you know what? I'd really like to be able to organize my friends list into folders. Mine isn't that long, but I bet that would be a handy way to do it. You could set one up for close friends, one for people you know but aren't close to, one for customers, etc...

Can you imagine the pain? "I like you and all, but I'd rather if we just stayed something less than friends..."

Thanks Rhaorth,
I voted for it. This is something I've wanted for a long time and a helluva lot more sensible than those damned calling cards.
*glares at Kalderi and Trout.

Whenever you message someone or send a notecard you get their calling card. Could you make special note somewhere be it in their profile or note to yourself about person that you'll remember?

I do this whenever I think of it when meeting someone for the first time. I'll even date it and record the place and what transpired. Just did it yesterday when I met someone nice and realized I've not been keeping up with it. The thing is, in the future I'll have to search chat logs or some other thing to find the name again if I forget (and I will, sorry) since I didn't get a calling card.

Yea, I wish we could write scripts to work with calling cards, too. Unfortunately, for some reason, calling cards are like the one type of asset you're not allowed to put in an object's inventory

If you want an inner circle of close friends why not make a group and invite them all to join. Then they can talk to each other and possibly even plot behihnd your back!!!

It'd be worth learning about inventory to figure out if it's just a limitation of the LL viewers (/me puts it on to-do list) ... I think calling cards have alot of potential

Yes, and a lot of people don't realize this, but these comments you add on peoples' profiles are stored on the servers, not on your computer, so even if you access SL from different machines, your comments are always there. I add comments every time I ban someone from my islands, so I remember what they were banned for. I also use it during friends-list pruning, kind of in the same way that traffic cops mark tires with chalk before writing tickets for unmoved vehicles.
