Hello Everyone … Hope you all had a great and safe New Years … I have a question about buying land, I just became a Premium member to buy land and what not, so I’m out shopping for land, however my L$ amount on hand is … well limited. And SL will only let me buy so many linden per day. Question is … I saw on the SL website under my account info “Buy Account Credit” .. is this used to increase your ‘spending power’ to help you pay for that large purchase? Can I add money from my RL back account to this? Any help/advise is much appreciated.

SL limits your buying power at first.......but if you are premium....once your account is secured with SL.....you should be able to buy a large amount of L's at once. (not sure how much you're looking to spend....but shop around, land prices can be ridiculously varied) I have purchased up to 30,000L in one transaction with no problem.

Hi there,

You can apply to get your "spending limit" increased through the website but this could take some time, they have spending limits in force to help cut down on fraud and also I think its a good idea as when I first joined SL I was going crazy and loading up on lindens..Scary when the bank statement comes in!

You can use other sites to buy lindens that will be delivered to you in world. But be very careful and dont buy from just any site or ebay as these could be of obtained fraudulently by using stolen credit cards e.t.c..and if so, the lindens will be taken back off you and you may suffer more consequences.. :(

Two sites that are trusted that I know of are:

http://www.slexchange.com
http://dreamland.anshechung.com/index.php

Dont be in to much of a rush to spend loads at first, seriously I really wish I had heeded that advice, the amount of freebies I ended up buying... grrrr but I was not educated enough in the ways of sl ;)... spend some time, look around and find out what interests you.

Spend lots of time having lots of fun :)

Happy new Year!

Enjoy your land when you buy it...:) I think its the best feeling when you have your own place to call home either rented or bought. Then the prim bugs bites...always wanting more ;)

I sound full of doom and gloom, honest I am not LOL!
