Favorite converse-style sneakers?

I just realized that my no-mod pornstar converse-style tennis shoes have scripts in every damned prim. So I want to replace them.

Do you have a favorite tennis shoe? Do share :) Slurl, region name and coordinate or xstreet link if you can, please.

Thanks,
Anya

From the Tools menu, near the bottom, "Set Scripts to Not Running in Selection". I am particularly fond of my Akeyo sneakers, details not to hand but search will turn them up.

For just plain 'sneakers' I like J's. Their P.E. sneaker is the one I wear most often, and I love it but if you want the colour choice option, and the converse style I love the ones from House of Curio

All of the shoes I have from them are great.

Unfortunately, you can't do that with no-mod objects. Thanks for the rec.

Seconded. Guu Nishi of HOC makes GREAT shoes. I have all of them... they do include a color change menu but I haven't noticed any performance problems. However, they are modifiable so you could delete the scripts if you really don't want them.

SL Stars. $449 Lindens.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Volksland%20Sun/78/146/22

At "Fancy Fashion."

They currently have pink, red, green, black, yellow, and blue.

They are untied and are not scripted that I've ever seen. But I have an older pair.

--

Actually - while there I decided to install a reseller for the black and pink models. I'm also going to start adding some of my odd creations.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Quentin/217/71/58

So you can buy them there instead, if you want. Lol.

If you are more the playful type you can find some sweet non-scripted sneakers here

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Elver/184/112/30

(199 L$)

and also some complete outfits including sneakers in different designs within the shop area. All handmade from the scratch, unique textures, no script stress, affordable.

Thanks for posting about this. I have a pair of those--probably the only no-mod shoes I own--but never really paid attention to how they implemented resizing, etc. --it's so agonizingly slow that it could as well all be done from a single script.

Anyway, they're history now and I need to go shopping, so thanks to all for the links.

Please look at the ones from Hoorenbeek. Very realistic and no scripts. They give you like 4 or 5 sizes.

Interesting. For my purposes, the best also turn out to be the least expensive. (L$40 from HOC: Modify, with a single tinting script--and as Malia noted, that's removable because the shoes are modifiable.)

The ones from Fancy Fashion are probably the best looking, but have resizing scripts of some kind as well as an AO, and I can't tell from the box or anywhere in the store whether they're Modify perm or not.

Hoorenbeek: I got burned by their no-mod shoes once before; swore I'd never shop there for anything ever again.

Easier to find in Search: Akeyo, not Akeyu... Much like Pornstars and pricey at L$600. Resize scripts and no-mod--one non-Converse sneaker style even comes with a HUD to control the tinting scripts. (Akeyo has some nice animations, though.)

SF Designs for converse-style trainers IMO. Tooled prims not sculpties, mod+trans, no scripts. Oldskool and ageless.

What I've done with my Pornstars to cut on scripts is this:

1) Make a base style. Name the folder Pornstars Base. (These will be the shoes that retain the scripts.)

2) Copy the folder and edit the shoe style.

3) Run the "delete scripts" command in the shoes.

4) Rename that folder for the style set for that pair of shoes. (Pornstars [style], usually)

5) Wash - Rinse - Repeat.

6) (Optional) Replace and delete old styles to keep things fresh.

Works well, no lag, and still the finest looking "Chucks" on the grid. (^_^)y

I've found the Hoorenbeek sneakers have a LOT of sculpties. Now, I suspect I could wear them with no problem, but before I added a better graphics card, the pair I found on a hunt could bring my computer to its knees. (<1.0 fps)

I like the HOC's pretty well. (Though I just noticed they have a lot of sculpted prims, too - I got them after the upgrade.) They were not the style I was looking for at the time, but I decided to pick them up anyway.

I'm not really shopping right now, but for future reference - has anyone seen any low, simple white canvas sneakers? (I'm thinking something like Keds.) Ah, thanks, Google images:

Mine don't have this function. Maybe it's newer than my shoes.

Ah. I have the lowtops now and it may be a new feature. As for the hitops and Xtrahitops, I've done the 'set to not running' thing. (^_^)y

Pornstar sneakers? I feel I need to get out and go shopping in real and hunt those down. Does Ferragamo do a pair?

They do? They didn't used to. The ones I have are not scripted. They contain 2 shoes and an optional, separate 'walk' AO.

If you meant Maschienenwerk, they can currently (they do move a fair bit) be found here:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/soleil%20rouge/85/145/28

One of the best freebie stores for male clothing in SL. All original content. I always try to drop some L$ in the tipjar when I'm at the store, to help the owner pay his tier; he does *such* a good job helping male newbies to look decent. He's a big Kraftwerk fan, too, judging by some of the t-shirt names and logos ;)

(Edit: He does female clothing, skins, shapes etc, too.)

Been there since I posted. Took a while to rez. At first the building looked empty.

They DO have free Converse. It's upstairs by the stairway. Many colors, hi top and regular; all free. Well I'll be danged.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/soleil%20rouge/105/97/41

And I'll be regretting spending about a thousand Linden in shops on the same thing.

I also noticed the clothes. This is one place most of the clothes are for men. They are not freebie-mall castoffs from '06 but current fashion. I'd call the style urban.

Why have I not known about this place until now? Anyway. There is the SLurl, if the land settings allow direct teleport.

(editing in - the clothes next to the shoes - first class. Jean jacket, camo jacket, camo pants, jeans, t shirts, all top quality. And all menswear. I'm envious!)

Yeah, he's doing prim cuff jeans as well now, and even his normal jeans are great. The Black Detroit Jeans he has in the store are the best permanent (ie: non-group/limited offer) freebie jeans I've seen in SL.

You do have to wander around, go up several staircases and across to the other half of the store. It's a bit of a maze, but worth poking around to find stuff.
