The private sim my build is located is currently marked as adult but I see many of my competitors who own similar sims have not yet flagged their locations as adult which I think gives them an unfair advantage in terms of traffic and vendor sales. Is there a way to flag certain parcels or sims for so that LL can enforce the adult content restriction on their parcels?

Abuse report under "indecency"?
When are they supposed to flag adult by? About a month from now? _____________________

There is no requirement to flag adult yet. Keep your eyes on the blog for the exact date.

I flagged mine as adult on the 29th. Have seen little difference in traffic. -shrug- New customers - old customers - sales - it's all about the same.
Granted, if they (your competition) are "truly" adult in what they are selling there, they are more than likely already filtered out of the general search regardless of their sim rating. |

I did it too, ages ago. I am small but I think it boosted my traffic. _____________________

i always used the adult search myself when i was looking for about anything..if i wanted a bigger search i always used the all search..
i never gave it much thought until recently that we have always had an adult search back as far as i can remember hehehe _____________________

Flag adult, but think twice about requiring 'adult-verified'. If you require aristotle verified, you will lose a lot of legitimate traffic as that is currently bugged. Flagging adult will just restrict to people with PioF.
Am I correct in that? And in that 'flagging adult' is what is required, not the aristotle thing? _____________________

I did it too, ages ago. I am small but I think it boosted my traffic. If you are in a competitive market, this wouldn't surprise me at all. In a lot of cases the "Big Boys" that have the most competitive search terms are staying "Mature" as long as possible. So for the people who are making use of the search functions and unticking PG and MATURE while searching for Adult things... you will probably find yourself up near the top a lot easier now. I'd imagine that for a lot of terms you could probably get on the first page of the classifieds for relatively little money right now. Terms like "Animations" where yoyo's are paying L$300,000 a week to hit the front page - you might be able to hit the front page of an adults only search for L$1000. (I dunno - I made that up - and picked a term out of the air, but there aren't a lot of people targeting adult searches right now - that's a fact). |

Almost right, I agree with you, if you flag adult ditch any "Restrict avatars who are not age verified" bs, it limits your reach and has never worked properly. |

Is there a way to flag certain parcels or sims for so that LL can enforce the adult content restriction on their parcels? Are you freaking kidding me? Mind your own business. GO TO YOUR SIM OWNER, ask them if they need to flag the sim as adult yet or can that wait until the rest of the grid is officially ordered to do so if they have not already been. It is your sim owner screwing your advantage, not anyone else. Wanting to go around and "FLAG" other parcels - specifically your competitors i take it - is rather lame. I really cannot stand people who think like you. You are the kind of person that would call the police on their neighbors for a matter that could have been handled with a knock on the door and a "could you please". Leave people alone. Worry about yourself and stop crying about some perceived unfair advantage and what other people have their parcel flagged as. If you want to level the playing ground - move to a sim that is not flagged adult. But that would be worthless since most of the sims will be undoubtedly flagged in the very near future anyways, so you are basically kvetching because people will have an advantage over you for a few days to a couple weeks, and you will lose how much money in sales because of this? $20 USD??? Ugh. _____________________

(I dunno - I made that up - and picked a term out of the air, but there aren't a lot of people targeting adult searches right now - that's a fact). I just muddle my way along, hit and miss, I've had a classified for ages too. I am in the second last viewer, I figure most people are in it, as there's been no forced update to the current one yet. The one I have has PG Mature Adult all available and was the first one to do so, so I figure curiosity & novelty is making people select Adult search as well... It was a surprise, this said, it's small numbers, traffic land size and $ but what came about was a consistency in all 3. You're right though, it could all slow down when the big sellers rate as adult. _____________________

When I talked to one sim about it the other day, she said she was required to by the new ToS and if I was having problems with Aristotle I could get them fixed in a jiffy by submitting a ticket. Here's my ticket: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1153 Waiting for my jiffy. ![]() _____________________

It is your sim owner screwing your advantage, not anyone else. Ugh. It probably sounds very double standard of me, but I gave up my idea of running around and reporting people when I discovered how buggy Aristotle was. I mean I still wish non-adult shops and clubs would stay off Zindra (just for content-location clarity - but of course, it would require more clarity over what mainland is too... ), but with all the problems, I can see their point now a little more than I did in say, posts I was making 2 weeks ago. After I found my own bug, looking into it just keeps turning up more and more other people with the same or similar problems. - Call me corrected on that issue. Might as well admit I was a bit wrong before somebody else pulls up my post history. _____________________

Good luck with your ticket, I was able to do it fine here in Australia on the first try... _____________________

I was worried about so many non-adult people jumping over to Zindra that it would push adult content off the grid all-together, since Adult can only be on Zindra or private now.
That concern however, has been sufficiently addressed in a number of places now. Specifically they've mentioned that there is a lot more Zindra coming down the pipeline. Of course, if they stall on that, I and others will have reason to raise heck again, but it will be of a different nature. And... is it just me or is Zindra laggy as [-OMG cover your eyes-]... I mean, for a near empty continent, it sure is slow... Which I think just about half the forum here has noted in one place or another. So I'm not exactly speaking news there... but that's going to get rough when some of those clubs start filling up. You'd think they were running the thing on old PowerPC Macs using OS9... ![]() - And at least two clubs that I like turn out to be on the same sim as each other now... eek. _____________________
