I do a lot of sailing...so crossing sim boundries is a regular (and sometimes painful) experience. However, recently, I get a yellow flag appearing on screen as I cross a sim boundary saying that the region I am entering is using a different simulator. When I click on it, it suggests that I refer to the Knowledge Base for more information. I have not been able to find anything there...Anyone know about this? What is the point of the flag? There's nothing i can do about it!

I'm guessing that the region you're crossing into is running Havok 4, while the one you came from is running Havok 1, or vise versa. Havok 4's implementation is still in the experimental stages. 99% of sims are still on Havok 1.
Anyway, I'm guessing the warning is to inform you that your vehicle might behave differently in the new region than in the old. EDIT: Or it could be what Ray said. ![]() _____________________

Hi Keava, same thing got my dander a few weeks ago when the sim were undergoing updating to new servers, the flag is not permenant and will not appear as soon as the neigboring sims are all updated. At least that is what should happen lol

I think we're going to see a lot more of this as LL discovers how fun it is to have a het grid..
Right now, I think the only different server versions on the main grid are the new versions that are slowly coming out with the rolling restart (http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/02/28/second-life-server-software-updates-1191-again/) and private islands that are in on the Havok4 Early Adopter (http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/02/28/havok-early-adopter-and-beta-preview-refresh-with-6-fixes-2008-02-28/) program.. It's nothing to worry about, Keava. _____________________

You'd think they would just give a brief description of what it is in their yellow pop-up means, instead of taking the time and space to write "This Region is running blah, blah, blah - go to the Knowledge Base for more information. Silly.
