Pop Up: Region Message

I've seen posts about this before, but not a resolution.

"You are entering a region which is a running a different simulator version than your previous region."

Why am I supposed to care about this? Is there a way to turn that pop up off? I am really entering a region where I'm frozen until the pop-up loads. It interrupts the flow.

Thanks.

It's annoying as hell when flying. Someone, please make it go away. :(

I was riding the SLRR vehicle when every time I crossed into a new region, instead of site seeing I was avoiding the regional pop-up windows. :(

The Dazzle viewer doesn't do this any more.. There's just a little popup on the bottom right of the screen, like when a friend goes on/offline - not the menu-style one that makes you click Ok.

This does make me want to look into other viewers.

The closest thing I've found is in Preferences>Popups>Do Not show Popups>When setting busy mode.

Not sure what that really means. Busy mode is dangerous if you're out shopping. Flying it might be handy.

That one just says whether or not to show you the popup warning about Busy Mode each time you activate busy mode.

I might actually go look at that one now.

Just created a JIRA for this. I hate those stupid messages.

Good! I'm just off to vote for it. Anoying, useless messages!

The only times I've ever seen popups like that are during rolling restarts, when I'm going from a sim that hasn't restarted yet to a sim that already has, or vice versa. I haven't seen it too often so it hasn't really bothered me.

Maybe the current popups have something to do with the Havok 4 Early Adopter regions?

Yes, the messages are due to regions running Havok 4. The Nicholaz client is another alternative to avoid the popups, too.

I'm using Nicholaz BE-V, and am still getting them. Is there a way to turn them off?

The new version will have a orange message coming from right lower corner and it will auto-disappear into some seconds. So the "problem" is already solved.

This won't work. In order for this to work Linden has to respond and we all know that's asking the impossible.

Orange? Isnt that for debit permissions? I think that would be confusing folks left and right.

Right, but if we're allowed to disable the "So and So is online" messages on the lower right corner (that auto-disappear in some seconds), we should be able to disable the region crossing message. The problem is NOT solved. It's just less annoying than it was.

debit permissions look yellow on my screen

either way, big popup debit permissions with a click to allow or disallow button

sim crossing warning thingy, small popup lower corner, auto goes away after a few seconds.

don't quite see the confusion there...

Looks more orange to me. Until I see it I cannot be for certain, I was just going by the description of it in the thread.

Regardless, I am sure your pretty smart to figure out that more colored pop-up windows means more to read before you act and likely going to result in a few more confusion posts...

Maybe... via debug cmds (if it isn't already possible... i didn't tried). Anyway i think that popup (NOW! that isn't intrusive) is very usefull: you should know you are entering into a sim that is running a different simulator, for a serious of reason that i won't explain now (but mostly of them are related to H1/H4 sim.. and you would have a tip while your vehicle (eventually) is running different).
I agree that an option there would be usefull, but i also think many other options would be more important than this one, so i do not consider it a "problem", it's a feature request after many (important) ones.

- The popup now is less intrusive, and it comes away alone.
- I don't think you will see soo often in the future since i don't expect that the whole grid will run on different simulators apart during the upgrades (limited amount of time) and for those hundres sim's running havok4 (h4 will be gridwide soon).
