I cannot find any male African (black) skins! My boyfriend has been searching high and low for one, but we cannot find any of good quality it seems. Any suggestions on high quality places with them? Preferably bald.
It's such a shame that it's so hard to find something like this.

I seem to recall that "King" had one. Depends on how dark of a complexion you want, I'm thinking this was fairly light skinned.

I am too shy to IM the owner of Inflict tattoos and ask where the darker male skins on his model comes from.
They are almost perfect. Where Chip Midnights skins are photorealistic, these are the "dream virtual man". Hard to explain what I mean... (english not my #1 language) Very muscular body, very handsome face. Not typically African, more like mixed, 50% black?
Maybe it's the darkest Abyss skin?

Olilia totally off the subject but I meant to thank you for posting the link to your site, think I was there once but I missed out all the cool tutorials on lips, skin making. One issue I have I feel I shouldn't use photos but I suck drawing belly buttons, ears and lips.

From: FD Spark ...One issue I have I feel I shouldn't use photos but I suck drawing belly buttons, ears and lips... (Thanks for liking my blogtutorials!) Naah! Why not use photos? Nothing wrong with that! IMHO a mix and match between drawing and photos are the best! I use photos of my own body on my female skins... Won't tell u witch parts, though... LOL - seriusly - all skindesigners use some kind of mix and match... What to mix and match is a matter of taste. This is a blogpost on the matter: http://softtouchblog.wordpress.com/2008/11/22/photo-sourcing/

Can you point a guy to some drawing techniques for UV male chest, muscles and how to line up the dufflebag/coinpurse outlines right? Hehe I have been really wanting to do realistic details in clothing layer but running into walls with the male groin area. Another issue is my lines I can never get the lines to shade just right especially on collars and some of skin techniques I might be able to apply to what I am doing I think. Goes and reads the link you posted. I did finally get camera but still learning how to use it. I do work really hard to do everything by hand but I have known to trace images and I have this one person say even tracing can be copyright violation.

I got to figure out how to photograph my own ears and lips and skin belly button, etc. I don't like my coinpurse. I wonder if it would be human ip theft to photograph passing men's dufflebags. LOL I am going to lay down, I got tons of questions and stuff I want to know just glad you posted what you know on your blog, rest can wait for now. Thanks FD

From: FD Spark Can you point a guy to some drawing techniques for UV male chest, muscles and how to line up the dufflebag/coinpurse outlines right? Hehe From: FD Spark I don't like my coinpurse. LOL He he Dufflebags: Ok, so what is your problem in the dufflebag area? ( I'm an expert LOL ) That area is one that is really hard to get right since the area stretches A LOT depending on what sizes u decide in App-mode... It's a long time ( many uploads ) skill. One pixel in the wrong place could F**K everything up... What are u working on? Pants? Skins? What problem specific? Techniques for UV male chest, muscles: There is not that many resources on the web helping u with that... People that's creating male skins don't give out files with basic muscle-shadings because that kind of files isn't out yet... Thats why male skins are still more expensive than female skins (because good female skin PSD's are out there for everyone - but no good male ones yet) I'll give you the 'FREE male skin textures' I've got! If you want my basic male shading textures... Hmmm! You can trade it for something u got... That I need... Hmmm... lol

Thanks for texture I study it closely and if I come up with anything good I let you know. I have gender bending effeminate hairy male skin based on Eloh Elliot's skins but nipples and chest just doesn't look quite right Well I tried to im you back I got different texture things I do, most are drawn for Men but most of it is Unisex, I mainly do fabrics, plants, trees and some 2d textures....just ask away if you need anything and I see if it's something I can do. I don't do hair textures for prim hair well I have tried they just don't turn out right for me. Dufflebag or coinpurse, you know I always wanted some skin that was atomically correct parts, jeans that when you look at crotch it not more then shadowy neither region. Nothing too adult but just realistic proper manly crotch curves for guys hint, hint Few attempts at atomically correct coinpurse or dufflebag areas on nude male skins tend to have like major phallic tuck issue, which is okay if its look you're going for but sort of like to have the curves work for me, not so flat but not prim dependant either. I have trying for year and I just get it right, it's just as bad as trying to get clothing layer right with correct details, without anything hanging in wrong place for bikini briefs or jockstrap for guys without that fabric hanging on the thigh region. I can emboss part of skin or underwear layer but I end up always having something wrong worse was case of the double headed pant bulging dufflebags. I studied many a photo, with shadows and light, still after I can't pull out the curves right so speak with my mouse. Maybe it case of forcing my mouse to behave more. Sometimes colors and shadows be it on skin or clothing layers for me just doesn't always work yet. Be it making darker African skin avatar, or shadows....I have to use some of your techniques and possibly maybe I can texture map the dufflebag or coinpurse issue again.... tried few times but still haven't gotten it right though Another annoying issue is layer management. Oh by way do your psd layers every do things you wish they wouldn't? Like not allow new layers, show up behind a layer more layers there regardless of whether or not they should be in for example its behaving like it's the 8 th layer or gone totally when pasting or drawing on more then 10 layers.

One of the in-world DJ's has a good looking skin. His name is Blade Unsustainable, just send him a IM and ask. It can't hurt and he may have good suggestions on other skins and hair.

From: FD Spark ...I mainly do fabrics, plants, trees and some 2d textures....just ask away if you need anything and I see if it's something I can do.... Thanks!! From: FD Spark ...Dufflebag or coinpurse, you know I always wanted some skin that was atomically correct parts, jeans that when you look at crotch it not more then shadowy neither region. Nothing too adult but just realistic proper manly crotch curves for guys hint, hint .... I hope I understand what you mean... (sometimes I misunderstand cause English isn't my first language) I think the coinpurse sort of 'makes it look like 'its something there' when a male AV wares clothes. But when the clothes come off its obvious that oops! nothing! To make a skin with 'male parts' painted on with shadows that make it look realistic... My male skins have 'a little bit' of that but you cannot do too much because it will look weird if you should attach a prim-one And since I sell my skins I want it to work both ways. And also within a large range of shapes. From: FD Spark ...I have trying for year and I just get it right, it's just as bad as trying to get clothing layer right with correct details, without anything hanging in wrong place for bikini briefs or jockstrap for guys without that fabric hanging on the thigh region.... If you are creating a skin for yourself keep trying by all means - think its doable if its just going to look good on one shape! But I cant help you with tips because I haven't really tryed it. When it comes to clothes I mainly do Female. But for lets say Jeans and Camos I want them to work for males too even if they might be a little 'girly'. As you said the first thing is to put details ( like a fly ) so that it doesn't smear out on the inner thigh or get too weird looking on a male with coinpurse. When I first started making clothes I thought I would start with something easy.. Bikinis! HA, HA! Thats really hard and I cursed myself - but I benefit from all that work now because I learned where NOT to put any pixels in that area! But its just trying and failing til you get it right... But I have never tryed to do any 'male shadowing' in that area on clothes. From: FD Spark ...Oh by way do your psd layers every do things you wish they wouldn't? Like not allow new layers, show up behind a layer more layers there regardless of whether or not they should be in for example its behaving like it's the 8 th layer or gone totally when pasting or drawing on more then 10 layers... About the PSD's... I'm not an PS-expert at all!! Just want to get the job done. Still discovering new features. But that kind of problem with 10 layers? Hmm! My files have a 100 layers. No problem... So the content of this post seems to be: I know nothing and cannot help you with anything! No seriously - just IM me or whatever anytime! I'll be glad if can help.

Thanks for responding. I'd go ask in the Texture forum but it seems like the questions I ask no one understands usually whatever I ask or I don't understand myself. I am very visual and your images with tutorials are very nice. I will see what I can come up with practicing some of your techniques from your tutorials, thank you so much for putting it up. For someone who English isn't your first language you explain things very well, bit better then I seen those who English is there only language. Coinpurse and Dufflebag I am basically use to be pg in relations to the groin area.. I have drawn different things in the skin and clothing texture. even used some embossing to make the area stand out but as you know sometimes pixels don't always do exactly what you want and it takes tons of mistakes and do overs. I did do some searches on 3d atomically correct bodies ponder how to transfer this on skins. It would be for my personal use, I am just not much into wearing prims and none of the clothes I do put up for sale ever use prims because I personally find prims in clothes that other content makers often becomes a major hassle in more then one way. Selling stuff isn't really big thing for me, sometimes I do but I am more focus on creating, learning and appreciating those who have wonderful information available for anyone to learn from like your site. Thanks again. /FD apologizes to the OP for all this "coinpurse" and "dufflebag" off topic discussions. I think with PSD thing sometimes my PS gets very grumpy and has memory issues ran into this with PSP 7 too.

Just realise that these tutorials are REALLY basic... Its mostly just different techniques. It doesn't tell you exactly WHERE to put shadings or highlights... I made them for ppl that REALLY want to start drawing skins by themselves (and be prepared to put in some time) but lack the ideas of how to start. For the ART of skinmaking.. You have to do the artistic thinking yourself... And again - don't hesitate to ask. I'll help (if I can lol)

I never understood how to use certain tools in your guide or how the shadows happen. The artistic aspect I know takes practice, I pretty creative, so rest will come eventually.
