You can use a myspace (or similar) page as your web tab. But please for the love of BOB, do NOT have it auto-play, that is SO annoying. It also used to haunt you for the rest of the session - at least now you can get it to STFU when you close a profile. Took me a while to figure it out too. I'd pop open a particular profile to IM someone, IM them, close the window (and I think the sound file took a long time to download) and not know where the dang sound was coming from - it'd follow you across sims and you'd finally have to re-log. Wow that was annoying. These days it'll still start playing the second you open up someone's profile if they have it on autoplay, which is still annoying, but at least it dies w/ closing the profile window.

Actually, yes you can. Just found this out yesterday when we were trying to help someone hearing opera music. Turns out one of the E. Kenzo's has it in the web tab of their profile. If you have auto-load web pages turned on, a people search on "e kenzo" will give you a few minutes of what sounds like Carmina Burana. :)

I'd have something catchy, perhaps Samuel Barber's "Adagio"

I'd end up going with Burn, from The Cure.

But that's just me. :)

Same thing happens on SlProfiles. I've opened up a few of those and the only way to get the damn music to stop was to relog.

Please, I beg of LL to NEVER EVER EVER have music on a profile as an option!

Wow what a lot of rage against music on profiles. I have music on mine and regularly change it around for variety. If you are reading my profile you are probably wanting some insight into my character and music is just as good/bad as the other drivel you can get on profiles.

I could rage against bad spelling, terrible grammar, vomit inducing sentimentalist poems, AOL l33t sk1llz or pictures of ugly pets but I don't; well except then.

Live and let live :D

I certainly don't have a problem w. the general concept of having music available as part of a profile, and pointed out a way to do it, I simply asked to NOT have it auto-play.

I am a musician, and love the general idea that people could sample my music (or someone else's from the profile page) but it's very annoying when you're at someone's concert, or doing your own for that matter, and open up a profile and start getting something immediately blaring at you. It's also annoying when you go to a webpage in some quiet location (or maybe when others you live w. are asleep) and wham, as soon as you load the page someone's idea of a cool song. So, please, have all the music you want , just don't have it auto play - I also mentioned that there used to be a bug where it wouldn't stop until you re-logged - that's nearly un-intentional griefing. Luckily, closing the profile gets it to stop now. Also, a lot of myspace and the like pages don't seem to display the player controls very well in SL profiles, so it;s really hard to turn it off if you have a reason to have the profile open, but prefer to not hear it.

I believe there is some way to put sound on your profile, I use to always open a friends profile and I would hear a baby cry, when I told him about it he would just laugh and never tell me how he did it lol

I reported this bug over a year ago. Why do we bother huh? ;)

No need to relog by the way. The music continues playing because the inefficient client doesn't unload the webpage after you close the search > people window. You just have to search for somebody else - somebody who doesn't have music playing in their profile - and it will go away.
