I think I would contact the maker of the item and see if code can be added to make it only give the item to someone who has not gotten a gift in the last 24 hours. It's a simple enough check to code in. I have a volume detect script that does that. Walk through it once, and it gives you a notecard and other things. But no matter how many times after that you walk through it in the next 24 hours, it ignores you.
