Disclosure seems to be the name of the game today - anyone care to share the reasons behind the choice of their first name in sl? Mine has literary connotations and Oxford Dictionary meanings. Sorry, my first thread didnt come on line for ages so I started this one!

My RL name is Scottish, so I chose a Welsh SL one. (Makes perfect sense to me.)

My online identity has been Shirley since the early days of Internet chat. It began with the joke from Airplane about "Shirley You Jest".

My SL first name is the same as my RL nickname (RL name is Vanessa). Everyone calls me Nessa and it's the only name i respond to other than Ness (which only my close friends call me) so that's why i picked it.

Anyone want to guess why I chose this first name?
Actually I spent about 2 minutes picking a name. If I had any clue about what SL was all about, or the fact that I would still be here over a year later, I would have put a lot more effort into picking a name.

This is just like deja vu. I think Jig has a memory problem but it would be handy if search worked properly ... /327/7e/233706/1.html

Simple and unromantic in my case. I was helping to cut a conifer hedge around the time I joined. I was unaware that my name couldn't be changed but I like the name Conifer Dada. But I have seen people with names that look like they contain typos. I think it would be a good idea if people were allowed one chance to change their name at the time of their first login.

When I decided to play SL after reading the website and thinking it would be interesting, I wasn't sure if it would be best to play a male alt or female alt, so I chose a gender-neutral first name in case I decided to have a sex change in the game after I became familiar with it.

I suggest you actually mean avie rather than alt. Alts by their nature are usually second, third etc avies
