From: Soen Eber A common one that's not listed yet - View Admin Options in the advanced menu lets you fly on no-fly land, and also allows you to offer teleports to anyone. It will also allow you to see the media stream setting on any land -- I use this to get music URLs for my radio. And it used to let you see info about land groups that you could not see otherwise if you were not a member - not sure if that is still there or not.

I thought the greyed-out teleport was a bug caused by load on some component in the user database. This would imply that it's deliberate... they don't want people to be able to offer teleport to people who aren't friends. Why would that be?

The Teleport option on the profile will be greyed out in two cases: 1) the person checked the box that says "only allow my friends to see me online", which many of us probably thought meant something entirely different than just allowing or disallowing that Teleport option from our profile 2) they have not checked the box and they are offline - if the box is not checked, that Teleport option is what will tell you if they are online or not. (note that the above applies to people not on your Friends list)

From: Conifer Dada From below, the inside of the flares of long trousers look like a disc that takes on the colour of your socks or skin. So, if possible, wear black socks with long trousers for a more realistic look. It should be possible to make black ankle bands on the sock layer that will do the trick even if you don't want to wear proper socks. Sleeves do the same thing. You could make socks and gloves that have no hands/feet, so it looks like you're barefoot/gloveless with nicely finished hems. OR ... you could go pick up Robin Sojourner's freebie on the wall in her avatar store, for a tintable version already made. Livingtree is a really nice place to visit anyway.

When they started messing around with the friends list I suggested that instead of adding all that complexity was a bad idea, and they just needed to add "log in offline" like every other IM system. I mean, really, when I want to log in and be a hermit and just work it's mostly the people on my friends list I don't want to show up online for. But thank you so much for explaining this...

There's some free gloves, socks, and other wearables in Bare Rose that have a graduated alpha to give you a "shaded" effect.

Oh somedays I would LOVE to log in offline and wish that functionality were available. While we're on the topic of IMs, I've noticed some people might not be aware of a couple of things: - User names are hyperlinked now in chat so you can double click them in chat and it will bring up their profile - When in an IM window with someone you can drag an inventory item into the IM window rather than doing it via their profile - When in a friends conference and you want to add another person, drag their calling card into the chat window rather than restarting the conference again.

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft - When in an IM window with someone you can drag an inventory item into the IM window rather than doing it via their profile. When you need to send someone multiple objects, you can do that in one go, select the objects in your inventory with ctrl hold down and then drag them to IM window. You can not drag multiple objects at once on an avatar, to an offline person, or in profile window (Not sure about last one) so I use IM window to send multiple stuff at once.

Annoyed by folders opening too fast in inventory when you're trying to move something to a different folder, thus causing you to lose the place you were going to drop them? There are debug settings that let you slow this down so the inventory panel doesn't go spastic on you. I'll look them up later and edit this once I find them again.
Found this one: FolderAutoOpenDelay Seconds before automatically expanding the folder under the mouse when performing inventory drag and drop Great one! I set mine to 3.000 and now its much better. *Edit: I just found this too: InventoryAutoOpenDelay Seconds before automatically opening inventory when mouse is over inventory button when performing inventory drag and drop Edit #2: For all those who hate facelights? RenderAttachedLights Render lighted prims that are attached to avatars =set to False Edit #3: (I'm finding this at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Debug_Settings) RenderNameHideSelf Don't display own name above avatar = Set to True to hide your name bubble?

There's a checkmark menu item for this under the Advanced menu. There's a checkbox for this in Preferences.
