I've been having a few problems lately and they seem to be getting worse. Has anyone else been having these or other problems?
1. Since I finally updated to the Second Life 1.21.6 (99587) Oct 14 2008 17:42:25 (Second Life Release) viewer not long ago, my texture window within the edit window takes forever to open. It takes around 10 seconds, which is very annoying while trying to build. The color palette opens immediately, as it normally did.
2. My AO walk animation has started to play in slow motion more then walk at normal speed. Before you say it... I dont' have slowmotion animations on.
3. Everything in General seems to be slow and lagging a lot. I generally did not previously have a major lag problem, unless a sim had quite a lot of people in it. Now it doesn't matter now many people are in it, it lags alot.
4. Things are reverting back to a previous state, such as position, size or color, but not right away. It seems to happen after a while.
5. Things I made and have attached are no longer in my inventory.

I've also noticed that my avi looks slightly different. Its hard to pinpoint the changes.. but it just does not look 'right'
Maybe I am just being paranoid.

It has, after all, been months since that plea to help them fix it went out on the official blog, and no sign of anything yet. Which... is the way they tend to operate anyway.

I have found things in general to be slower to rez and things are laggy for the past couple of weeks or so, and I have been using the same Sl client for months... I think the issue might be with the SL servers rather than the new client.

So, wazzzzz up with that?

Someone did offer a patch to do the slow-down thing, but it was rejected because it didn't take the rest of the walking motions into account, and even slowed down the existing default walk looks stupid. There is an unofficial viewer called Insolence (is that its name? I've lost track of them all) that uses the patch, but LL still wants new animations. ETA: It's Imprudence

Things I made and have attached are no longer in my inventory. 1) We actually discussed this one in a thread here -- the texture window is slower to open and more so in the new clients. 2) Odd - mine seems to sometimes go into a short 'run' sometimes right after a TP 3) Everything seems slower to me also, especially object rezzing. I've had no occurrences of 4 or 5, but would not doubt it at all.

At first I thought so also, but have been monitoring logins and they have not been any higher and on many days they have been lower. Yesterday we were under 50k almost all day, but I experienced some of the slowest rez times ever.

same here very very slow
been laggy last few weeks but yesterday was one of the worst for me
and the texture window thing is highly annoying (that is why I search the texture in my inventory and drag it to the texture window, when I remember to)

Was in world earlier this morning and everything was rezzing at a snail's pace...even in empty sims. Most everything I saw were giant gray blobs and when I did go to a populated sim, the people were gray.
I also noticed the slow walk thing.

And in comparison to many SL days, the login count is fairly low -- only about 57,500 right now.

Funny, i haven't had the slow down thing, but I tend to run sometimes for a few seconds... and yes the texturre window is ridculously slow, wich is really annoying, i thought it was because of the many textures I have but even if inventory is fully loaded the viewer freezes for 10 seconds before displaying the window... and I agree things rez slower then they used to and the textures load slow... Don't think it is because of the holidays as I mentioned all this in November already...

Yes I have had this problem, along with the annoying habit of not standing still in one spot after tping, keep wandering off as if being bumped, and my camera keeps zooming ina nd out.

I've seen about a 50% decrease in rez time on all my machines and clients past month, in fact it has been so bad I haven't even been logging in much a few times a week for an hour or so where a month ago and before it was4-5 hours a day! my Frame rate is good still and it seems no mater what ob either RC or main as well as a NIK old School GREY BLOB takes forever to rez seems there's something up with the cashing as well again.

Yes, even in Nich BE, things are taking a long time to rez -- still seems faster than the Windlight versions, but slower than it used to be.

you don't need to see a change in logins to have net lag.... millions of kids home for the holidays in the us alone all trying to sneak around the net behind their parents backs or playing games online adds to overall local congestion, which would definately affect packet lag (and filtering/priortization at ISP levels only adds to that) which could in turn affect rez times (can't rez what hasn't arrived yet)...
as for the slow motion thing, that may be a server adjustment to limit the old jerky stop and jump action that used to occur when theres a packet slowdown/loss
just an educated guess.

We all know any plea to LL to fix things go pretty much ignored. They seem to be to busy to fix things they broke many viewers ago, waisting resourses on things we don't really need. With every update they blindly create more problems and still manage to ignore them. Sooooo...what if you took your car to get fix if it was running bad, when you came to pick it up, a wheel was missing..don't you think the mechanic would have notice that he didn't put the wheel back on?...our SL mechanics don't!
They need to concentrate on fixing things they broke..such as Sim crossings, It would be so nice to cross a sim in a vehicle or not, without getting tossed across SL and losing your vehicle. I bet you don't even remember this one....Fix the minimized window memory so the windows stay where you put them when you minimize them. They should work on LOD (Level Of Detail) settings so sculptys don't bork when when you zoom out, no matter how they are made. What about the problem with Nvidia video cards with an AMD Dual core? I can't even run SL with the screen jittering really bad, unless I disable one of the processors in the infinity setting. I can't use any of the latest Nvidia drivers..they cause problems in SL...How many other things need fixing? I mean really....
Then there is..Jira...is that LL's idea of a private joke? 1. It's hard to find anything. 2. You have to vote on it to get fixed, IF you are lucky enough to find it. 3. Honestly...how many people go there to vote on something. 4. ....and how many people even know about it. 5. If LL fixed the problems they wouldn't need it
LL should check the forms..this is where everyone brings up problems.
Sheesh! anyway...

I have been running horribly slow lately, and it takes FOREVER to download the images, lets just say I was at a popular singers show recently and 30 min into the show I still had not loaded all the images..... I seen grey people!
I've cleaned cache etc etc...

"SL gone bad... again" makes me think of "Sun shining... again" or "Dog barking... again".
Not exactly a major news story.

Script variables and objectDesc are reset when worn items are dropped.
Some servercode seems improved for slow bandwidth and places with lots of textures in range or lots of physical/vehicles.

Seems SL is taking longer and longer for textures. And I'm about ready to find something else to do because as a builder speed at building is my specialty and with waiting 2 to 5 minutes just to see the texture little lone finding one that works it just kills me to want to even bother.
