A world-wide "government of residents" in Second Life would be like establishing a Home Owner's Association for people that rent at a hotel rooms by the hour. :D

Global SL 'resident government' would have to get past Caledon's gunships first...

I'd rather welcome it, actually... ever seen dozens of psyched NeoVictorians on a hostile intruder or two? Hoo boy that's entertainment!

I've found grid governments rather... unfulfilling, actually.

Supposedly there were to be fines for offending acts in the CDS sims, and try as I might, I couldn't get anyone to give me a court summons, or even a common ticket for prim littering.

I really wanted their court summons for my wall! *sniff* ...they let me down...

Though, admittedly my prim littering (which I DENY in front of the CDS' highest court!!!1111) was only one prim. But it had our flag on it, and a somewhat racy picture of a furry...

Alleged prim, actually. Yep, that's it. I think I'd better get a slawyer. I wonder if they would let me run for chancellor from CDS jail? What if I bought them some goreans to pay tribute or something?

Just musing out loud.

LADIES! Gather 'round. We have a new client! He's innocent this time. Maybe. Well, he will be when we're through with him.

I really wish there was an General Forum here for Jig's thread's. They have become somewhat of a guilty pleasure. Some of the questions are annoying as Hell, but a lot of them are interesting, and do show some remarkable insights.

Nah, but I'll take that as a compliment. He's much funnier than I am.

PS. If you don't like my threads, don't read them.

First off, didn't you say you wasn't posting anymore? I recall a thread started by you where you stated you wouldn't.

Second, You're smart enough to know your posting of dumb questions is getting annoying to people here so why continue?

It's understandable and even sort of required to post questions about sl and even hold discussions on different subjects. But you're doing neither as you're constantly asking is it white or is it black? Is it up or is it down? Is it left or is it right? Is it straight or is it crooked?

It seems your routine is not to find answers but to give you something to do. You answer your own questions so why ask then? Especially, when they're not related to the sl itself like other common questions. It's more like you want to impose your personal beliefs for others to see. It's not necessary.

While I haven't posted in a while I do pass by from time to time and you're method and way of asking questions of things that have no value is begining to get quite irritating. But you're 100% correct, if one doesn't like your questions then one shouldn't read them and I agree. The thing is you can't help but constantly see your questions in threads you're constantly starting. One after another, time after time the same thing. And while I don't know if someone has mentioned this to you before now I can imagine they have, if not you wouldn't of said what I quoted you above.

Just my thoughts.

She apparently is starved for attention. Sadly at the cost of important threads more suited for "RESIDENT ANSWERS" which get pushed further down and even off the page.

Connolly,

Isn't this what you really just wanted to say? C'mon, say it, it's ok. You'll probably be in the majority anyway.

There's already a "Government"
01-29-2008 11:11
It has a "Government". Since they have a lot less to fear from the "population" they a Government would in RL, people just don't realize it, because they don't have to regulate as much to "stay in power".

Theoretically if the current SL Government were "over-thrown", the "world" would cease to exist, because they maintain it, hence the ability for an almost invisible presence that most SL "Residents" don't see as being a Government.

LL has a "World Government" and "World Monetary System" in place, automatically. No other countries in-world to struggle against. Since the competition is outside of the universe, "our Government" has no need for a military or Police to enable them to stay in power.

In other words, the Government already exists, it's been around since the creation of the universe, and is omnipresent, like "God".

The SL Grid is basically a virtual example of a universe made up of one world, with a visibile, "Pantheon of Gods" in charge. Phillip being "Zues", "Odin", or whoever.
