BTW, if there is a sim that allows things *I* do not want to see it is a sure bet to be Adult++ :p

Is this for people over 65 years?

Personally, I pay absolutely no attention to a sim's rating when I am shopping.

I do... but only because if it's mature I -am- going to dress down unless I get a vibe telling me not to.

But I don't take it into account in picking where to shop. I pick where to shop by the slurls I get handed on xstreet.

...
I've been trying to figure out how to search for items within SL - I get them sometimes in search, but haven't found a way to get just items, and not also other things. So xstreet it is, which sadly means I miss anyone or anything not on xstreet. Unless I stumble on it - and in fact I found a great buy last night by accident, after actually searching for the very type of things for most of the day yesterday on both xstreet and assorted in-SL searches.

I think you -will- be hurt by going mature. But you -will- also be hurt by going PG. and you -will- also be hurt by going Adult...

:D

You just have to figure out which crowd you are willing to lose. Mature is going to end up a safe middle ground for at least the near future while people sort out their new comfort zones 'post change.' So probably best to hang out there until after we know how the community will in fact end up reacting to the coming changes - unless you have products specifically targeted at pleasantville/corpville, or to the XXX crowd, stand in the middle and wait to see which way the wind actually ends up blowing.

Search for 'Kawaii' and go to a high traffic PG area in a Japanese region. :D
- Unless you're still in your pink-pony / strawberry shortcake phase, it might be just a little -too- much. :D

After that, seeing 'other uses' for ponies is almost acceptable.

I also have my store split onto both PG and Mature land.

it searches PG by default. so if you are PG, you will show in ANY search. you only show in mature if #1 you list your land in mature, #2 the searcher has actually clicked to show mature.

to me, it would be most sensible to be in a PG rated land (if you are showcasing PG products).

PG search can be filtered out in the new viewer.

I also have my store split onto both PG and Mature land. You just never know what the person searching has selected in their checkboxes, so I like to be safe in the knowledge of being found either way. If you have enough tier to keep a 512 in PG land (use vendors on the PG land and provide a landmark to the main store with demo versions where your prim count is higher) that might be something to consider.

Using the PG land to get into a PG search, just to use it to give a landmark to the Mature (or Adult) land. That is a clever way to game the search.

Just get mature land and cut a parcel large enough to appear in mature search, flag it as mature content and you're in PG and mature search.

I don't consider that "gaming" at all. LL keeps changing the rules about search and it is a wise choice (IMHO) to be covered no matter what foolish decision they've made this week. The new Adult category muddies the water a bit, but I have no intention of buying land in Pornsylvania just to route traffic to my stores on PG and Mature land. In my opinion, PG search should include ONLY PG land. Mature search should include both PG and Mature land, Adult search should include only Adult.

What LL thinks, is another thing entirely.

I wonder if I can get it so I get $1L everytime someone says "Pornsylvania".
