From: Argent Stonecutter So, how about that false advertising then? Advertising rules vary from place to place. You can exaggerate the quality of an item. That is called "puffery" and is mostly legal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puffery Saying things that are factually wrong on purpose (like prim count, or permissions, or "detects all avatars within 512m" would be fraud. Whether Linden Lab or real life legal authorities will actually do anything when it happens is an entirely different matter than the commission of a fraud itself. I know of plenty of cases where it has happened with respect to estate land rental, and nothing much is done about it.

From: Argent Stonecutter So, how about that false advertising then? I suspect LL probably thinks it prudent not to get involved in investigating and adjudicating claims of false advertising or fraud. If, however, some aggrieved resident were to take the matter to the appropriate RL authorities and a court decided in their favour, then matters would be different. But as it is, we're innocent until proven guilty, and it's up a court to decide if it's persuaded to a pretty high standard that someone's guilty, so I don't see what else LL is supposed to do, other than refer the complainant to the appropriate RL authorities, if the accused says, no, I'm not guilty of any wrongdoing.

From: Rene Erlanger You're right about that.
A pretty well known Creator/Merchant had her account permabanned (mid-Dec), land reclaimed, shop deleted and 200k L taken....for using a full perm sculpty boot that ended up being stolen from somewhere (purchased on XStreet). It's quite possible it might have been the one shown in your URL. And then we don't really know the provenance of the free sculpt on turbo squid either. Who knows?

From: Argent Stonecutter Creating a deceptive FL profile for fraudulent purposes is one of many things that is not against the ToS but is clearly unethical. I agree with you about that. It's simply lying.

Architectural licensing laws vary from state to state in the United States. But in most states it is illegal to call yourself an Architect if you have not obtained the license.
Licensing acts also regulate what kind of "architectural" work can be done by licensed and none licensed persons. Generally none of these regulations would apply to doing "virtual" architecture.
