Cannot take clothes off

Please, can anyone help? I cannot take my clothing off, it's been like this for several days, no matter what I try. I can wear other underpants but not take off the one that was there 2 weeks ago. I e-mailed the maker, she suggested I looked for help here. Thank you very much.

make sure the skin is not one with perma undies,
if not then go into your client menu(hit control+alt+D to enable this)
go to char(i think, cant be sure as SL is down) then go to test - Female Avatar.
then rebake.
once SL is back up im me in world andi can make sure i told you correctly. that should help though. also SL is experiencing inventory asset issues so that could also be the root of your problems as well.

perma undie skin doesn't sound very hygienic.

OP do a "worn" search on your inventory and see if you see the offending undies.

you emailed the maker of the underpants, or of your skin?

Try replacing your skin with another and see if that helps, then switch back. If you don't have others, there are some in the Library folder. I'm wondering if it's actually on your current skin and not a real underwear layer, especially since you had on other underwear layers.

Other things to try:

1. Select the "remove all" choice on the appearance menu.

2. Try rebaking. If you haven't accessed the Client menu (on the toolbar) before, hit ctrl alt D and you'll see it. Then go to Client>Characters>Rebake textures

I wish I could overcome my reputation for not being able to keep my clothes on.

My advice would be to just accept it and leave them on. It's better for everyone, all round.

Morgaine had tattoed panties to begin with. I just asked her the name on them which I forget and she thinks started with 'O'

and Bradley .. perhaps you need tighter clothes? .. ya know .. so they gr-rip better?

I'm sure she would prefer it, actually. Plus, it is perfectly possible to was clothes while wearing them by just getting in the shower clothed.

Be assured that I for one can stand witness that Bradley did not, in fact, remove his clothes at the New Year's Eve Party. Granted I wasn't there for the entire party, but not once, while I was there, did I see a nude Bradley. I did see one topless person there, but it was a different man entirely.

Oh . . . right. I just remembered looking at the pictures on Flickr. Snowman was completely naked at the party, at least according to the pictures.

Maybe having a bath with some laundry detergent in it is the answer. Roll around enough and it will work just fine (will remove odours, but not stains though). The only issue is getting them dry.

No, that was him. But if he was wearing them, then by definition he was wearing his clothes, making the rumours unfounded.

Last month, I had a favourite shirt that wouldn't come off for days - old shirt, old skin, nothing new at all - a rebake fixed it instantly !

There is a 'bug' in the new windlight and release candidate viewers that suppresses the 'underpants' and 'undershirt' options in the pie-menu thingy. So if you are attempting to undress by right clicking yourself, then clicking take off, clothes, more, you will find those two options are gone.

However if you look in your inventory and find the clothes that are worn, you can right-click the articles individually and click 'take off' from there.

Alternatively in the pie menu, the 'all' option does work, to remove all clothes at once.

Assuming that this is the trouble you're running in to.

You can also use the Appearance dialog to remove your underthings individually, in the RC and Windlight clients. The bug has been reported, a lot, and they are hopefully working on fixing it.

Not a theory, it is a real bug. I've run into this bug.

the Conspiracy Theory would go like this ..

They bugged it on purpose, so that everyone would have to keep their underwear on and thus clean up the grid.

My understanding is that there is something about the Windlight release, one of them, that incorporates the "no underwear removal for you teen!" of the Teen Grid. I've seen pictures on Flickr of Teen SL, pictures taken in Windlight. It was purposely put in Windlight. Just for Teen SL's version (if they actually made a different version for Teen SL; maybe there was just supposed to be one Windlight - I've seen comments on Flickr and elsewhere that indicates that the Teen Grid is very small, very active with a lot closer Linden/resident communication and filled with griefers; they might have wanted to play with Windlight and the powers that be might have wanted to give them the chance - on the other hand I think it was just a bug that incorporated the Teen SL login stuff (that keeps them from removing their underwear) that got into a Windlight release).
