Quite a bit of my stock is dollarbies; how do I take down items from the server so I don't get charged for posting them?

Hi Haley,
We haven't figured out a quick and easy way to do this. At least I haven't. You're going to have to deactivate all items, then delete them manually from the Xstreet box on your land. If anyone else has got a quick solve, let us know! |

Just deactivate them, you won't be charged for deactivated items.

Has it definitely been confirmed that deactivated listings will not be charged for yet ? I know there was some confusion on this point when the announcement was first made.

Pink told people to deactivate their listings at the last office hour.
Also in the blogrums, under the merchant round table Pink posted this: "I know one burning question is out there, so let me answer it since I have already answered it in world. Colossus may Nerf me for saying this, but I will make sure that we do not charge for deactivated listings. This decision may delay release (which I'm sure some of you will appreciate), but I fully get the seasonal merchandise argument, the "I'm on vacation" argument, and all the others I've heard. Let me repeat: We will not charge for deactivated listings. Thank you again for the discussion and we look forward to continuing to follow along. Pink" https://blogs.secondlife.com/thread/5064?start=45&tstart=0 That should take you to the right page but you can only read it if you have access to the merchants round table. |

Why not just raise all their prices to L$25 ??
That's still pretty cheap. _____________________

Per listing? Are you having a laugh? No, raise the price on all his dollarbies to L$25. If people really want the stuff, there's no reason they can't pay L$25 for it instead of L$1. _____________________

Group dollarbies into one box
12-20-2009 09:47
Dollarbies are essentially freebies. Since the new commission scale has a minimum of 3 L$ charged, then pack at least 4 related items together in a box and charge 4 L$ for it. This will keep the intent of having cheap items, and cover the minimum fee, and save at least 75% of the listing fees.
Any items that are not selling very often at 1 L$, perhaps you should rethink having them listed at all. That is saying nobody wants it even when free. |

That's really the core of the problem, isn't it? If we assume that LL's new policy is NOT motivated by income (for them), then we can assume it really is to remove "clutter". That is to say: stuff nobody wants and that just muddles up the searches for things that people DO want. The entire issue could have been nicely solved by simply deleting anything that hasn't sold in 6 months (or whatever), even if 'sold' at zero lindens. Xstreet exists to move stuff from seller to buyer. If that doesn't happen, it doesn't belong there, whatever the price tag. _____________________

I'm still wondering where LL will charge the listing fees from: balance on Xstreet - linden funds on account page - USD on account page - or just go right for the payment method on file.
Has anyone heard anything about that? _____________________

Has anyone heard anything about that? Not 100% sure but eventually it will come right from your balance as they've now started the process of merging the balances. I think folks will be miffed if they charge from a card on file. |

How does one gain access to the merchants round table? Go to the commerce blogrums here: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/commerce On the left there is a helpful links section, one of which is to submit a support ticket to gain access to the merchants round table. |

If I have nothing in my Xstreet account I can't buy anything for 1L.... so freebies are important to me. And to be honest people are putting some really nice stuff in the freebies lately, its just all the demo crap you have to get past first. I WISH they would make a specific demo section....... or just take out all the demos... a general search of freebies from lowest to highest (yeah I know they freebies) lists about 40 pages of demos commision vendors and program books or magazines...... ???? And I got to say I have got a killer freebie treehouse that I LOVE and have paid for a couple I hate! |

since when is 1L free?
Since when rounding to the nearest real world US currency it works out to $0.00 (it's $0.0037, but $0.01 is the smallest unit in circulation). It's also about 10 minutes of electricity running your computer. If you factor in the purchase of the computer over the life of it, and your internet costs, its about 2 minutes. Therefore I claim it is negligible relative to the other costs of being online in the first place. |

The cynic in me - and trust me, the cynic grows more and more each day, would lke to point out you can't really throw a Linden very far and that is how far you should trust them. They may not be intentionally misleading - they are after all just bloodyi cogs in the LL machinery - Pink may TELL you you won't be charged but really... can you be sure? Let's remember how much we believe a huge number of people ALLEGEDLY asked for ths to happen- you know, same as Zindra was requested... so- to be safe, delete the crap you wont be listing -

Try simply deactivating them for now. Until it's clear whether that will still incur charges, it's a lot easier.
LL has not yet made it completely clear whether that will take care of it or whether everything must be completely deleted as well. _____________________

LL has not yet made it completely clear whether that will take care of it or whether everything must be completely deleted as well. I think it will depend on how much of a burden unlisted items will still be on the XStreet systems. _____________________

LL has not yet made it completely clear whether that will take care of it or whether everything must be completely deleted as well. If you were at the meetings or read the transcripts, this HAS been made completely clear that you will not be charged for inactive listings. If people choose not to believe it that's fine but it has been made clear as a statement. |

How does one gain access to the merchants round table? You just need to be a merchant in the sense of having items listed on Xstreet. And you need to ask to join by going to the support ticket page. Go to your dashboard and along the top is a help drop down menu with "submit a ticket" option on it. I think they have even streamlined it by putting a button there.
