I Am New Here Can Someone Help Out? I Would Like To Know How Do I Put My Picts On My Profile. Mean My Real Picture Of Myself? And Also Would Like To Know What Kind Of Video Card Would Work The Best Of Best With Sl?

Hi and welcome - you see above the page there and to the left... there is a rather vague sounding "User CP"- it means User Control Panel. That is where u make all the changes.

One request though, please? And it's just personal so if you don't want to, just ignore me :) Please- don't type with all the caps in odd places- it makes reading your post difficult. Thanks. Enjoy your SL.

Oh, and the nVidia GeForce 8800s are usually touted as the 'best' cards for SL, but they may not be best for your system.

Hi and welcome to Second Life

I don't know much about th' video cards, so I can't much help you wish that.

To put a RL (real life, also known as "first Life";) photo of yourself in your profile, select "upload pictures" from the file menu. It will cost you L$10 for doing so.

After it uploads, you'll find it in your inventory (for now, you can locate it on the "Recent Items" tab; in the future, it will be in your "textures" folder).

To put it in your profile, right click on your avatar and select profile, then drag the image from your inventort onto the picture box in your profile. You can slo select it by clicking on the pictutre box and navigating in inventory to the image you desire.

A word of advice: I would recommend avoiding RL photos. In Second Life, you are represented by your avatar, and generally your profile photo would be of him/her/hir/it. It is okay to have first life information on the approriate tab, however many opt to leave this empty or use it for something other than real first life information (I use a RL photo from my childhood there) as a way of preserving their anonymity.
