OK there are tonnes of grid wide hunts out there at the moment, but what happens if one of the LMs you need to go to next is on an "adult" sim and you are not age verified?
Has anyone found this a problem yet? Or have the organisers got a back up plan?
I mean if people cant get to Zindra, its not gridwide then.
Sorry if this has been asked, tis late and half asleep to probably missed it lol

Simple Answer: Get age verified.
Since right now everyone on the grid is "supposed" to be 18+ yrs old, it really shouldnt be an issue at all.

Well yeah that makes sense but so many dont want to age verify.
I have shops in an adult sim, but darent enter the hunts in case people cant get to me. even now, a lot of members are still asking why they cant get to the sim, we have been posting the new for MONTHS and people still dont age verify. Which is why I asked what happens to the hunts. IS there a back up plan for those who dont verify?

They don't have to Age Verify if they want to supply payment info - suggest that as an option.

You can also access adult regions if you put payment information on file. Age verification isn't required.

Hi, Titania. Personally, if I wanted to have my store participate in grid-wide hunts, I would have a small Mature branch, and put my hunt prize there, along with a LM to my main store in Zindra. Below is some detail on how verification works. To enter an Adult sim, you need to do one (*only* one) of the following: 1. Have PIOF - that is, validate your SL account by putting a credit card on file with LL and buying Lindens with it, or 2. Validate your SL account by using a "verified Paypal account" to buy either Lindens on the Lindex or anything on XStreet. A "verified Paypal account" is a Paypal account that is linked to a bank account, so it debits that account immediately whenever you buy anything via Paypal. Or: 3. Use LL's Age Verification. To do this, log into the website ( www.secondlife.com). On the home page, choose "account" on the left. Then choose "Age Verification", again on the left, and fill out and submit the form. In addition to the sim-wide "Adult" flag, SL provides another way to keep out younger players: the "Age Verification" flag for a parcel. To enter a place that has that set, you MUST have done #3 above - PIOF etc. won't work. It's confusing, and many of use would like #3 to be eliminated, and the Adult flag extended to be used on parcels as well as sims. But, LL hasn't done that as yet. For more info, the Knowledge Base (on the Support page) has a FAQ on Age Verification. .

Since they are not Linden-sponsored events or anything like that, it will all depend on who is organizing the events. Im sure eventually once the two grids are merged, there will be hunts that will be geared towards the non-adult players.

To get into an adult rated region you must either have payment info on file or be age verified. To get into a place that the owner has set as requiring age verification, you need to be age verified (just like you need to have payment info on file to get into a place that the owner has set as requiring payment info on file for access).

Payment information on file need to be in your in-world profile, not just on the web site. If you have PIOF, but it doesn't show in your profile, you'll need to either put in a support ticket to get that fixed or buy some L$ through the viewer.

Any hunt will have snags. Places you do not want to go, places you are sick of looking for the object and want to move on, vendors backing out at the last minute for various reasons .. lots of reasons to get stumped.
Join the hunt group and ask for the LM to the next place. Easy. Also, some hunts will have notecards with a list of all participating merchants so you can skip and trouble parts and start again at any point.

Thank you for everyones reply. I would like to add though... I am already age verified. I was actually asking what would happen if someone ELSE wasnt age verified and were taking part in a grid wide hunt. As mentioned at the start, I have a couple of shops on an adult sim. I had wanted to participate in some hunts, but wondered what happens when it comes to the box before me, and someone cant get to my shop because its on adult land and they cant get in. What happens next. I could set up a shop on mature land, BUT one of the stores is erotic art, not suitable for mature land, and its not just the shop I have there, I own the club etc with my RL husband and one point is to get people to your sim/shop via a hunt. So, looks like people on Zindra are missing out again. I guess the only way I can find out is give it a try. OK so in the groups people start saying - dont go to that place, its on adult land and I have the LM for the one after it anyway etc etc lol. Worth a try though. Thanks again

Thanks again No. it is more like "does anyone have a link to #23?" If there is ever anyone saying NOT to go somewhere it is because that place is no longer in the hunt. I personally have never heard anyone say a thing about any place being Adult. There may be a warning a rare times about some place being PG tho.

I'd speak to the organizers of the hunt, see how they handle adult sims. It costs nothing to asks and the worse they can say is "No."

Sorry if this has been asked, tis late and half asleep to probably missed it lol I know the hunts I am in have a special place where unverified can go to get the next LM, also explaining in the group will also get you the next LM. Most have webpages with details about the stores so you can skip if you wish.

Thanks again. Just a shame really that again people on Zindra suffer through no fault of their own.
LL really didnt think things through, or just couldnt care less anyway.
Well ill try a few hunts and hope that at least SOME are able to get to my sim.

Unless they happen to be in a part of the world where they can't verify. I do think LL has provided ways to do that now though. Once again its free, so I don't see the fuss. Regardless of the debate to if its dumb or not, its here. So people can verify or be locked out of places. Not the fault of owners, or operators of sims. It comes down to the individuals refusing to verify.

There's even people in the US who can't verify. Verifying is only "no problem" for them if they're willing to lie about it. People who require *age* verification specifically are fools.

I personally have never heard anyone say a thing about any place being Adult. There may be a warning a rare times about some place being PG tho. Personally, I think this is backwards. If you're going to TP into a store that you haven't visited before, and it's not obviously an adult products store or location, then you should dress and act properly. This comes close to meaning PG, even if it's on a Mature sim. Nudity isn't appropriate - as a matter of courtesy, independent of the rules. Note that I'm not saying that nudity is never appropriate in such stores - for example, stores connected to sex clubs. I'm saying that if you're not familiar with a store, then you should assume PG conduct, regardless of the sim rating, until proven otherwise. On the other hand, wouldn't a kid av going on a hunt need a warning about adult stores? At a minimum, I hope we can agree that a hunt should state upfront, before anyone starts the hunt, whether it contains adult content or PG sims. I'd prefer that the PG warning were omitted, because it implies that non-PG behavior is acceptable in a store that sells ordinary hair (for example), but I can live having both warnings. But the adult content warning should be considered necessary, even without the whole adult verification issue.

There's a few issues here and here's the various ways that they're tackled.
This problem was around before zindra - there's always been the issue of child avs going into some shops. The better hunts will provide on request a slurl to the hunter if they arrive and find they can't enter. This is also happening now for issues around non verified adults.
A lot of hunts won't touch you if you say you're on zindra/are on an adult estate or they will say yes until they realise just what that means for them with the extra workload.
Some are now specifying that you have to have a mature shop. Some are also explicitly saying they welcome shops on adult land but for some of the hunts they are more pg than I would like.
Personally, I keep away from any hunt that isn't specifically targetted at adults. Mainly because of the issue around child avs but also because the more pg the hunt the less likely I am to see anything other than traffic as the hunters are unlikely to be potential shoppers. With the child avs, a lot of them will not slip into adult garb and my customers get mighty upset when they see child avs running around. I've also noticed that in the hunt groups some of the less sophisticated hunters will have a mini drama at being exposed to sights that offend their poor eyes.
My stats from the last hunt showed I'm almost back to my normal percentages of piof/piu vs npiof so by the look of it the majority of hunters are set. It's probably only their alts that aren't (which is what you usually get in the dying weeks of a hunt).
There's no easy answer - if you tell them upfront you're on zindra then you'll probably get knocked back. If you don't you may get aggrieved IMs/attitude from hunters and will also have the child avs to deal with.
It's like every other bit of marketing we do here - we never get the returns that the others get for the same outlay.
