Has anyone noticed that the Land Auction page has changed?
Have you been able to browse different auctions?
I am not interesting in buying but I do enjoy looking at new land on the auctions every few eeks but now that its changed to Land Auction Ebay.
Not sure if their is just not any listing or its me because I can't seem to get seach to work.
Also I noticed in FAQ they didn't mention once if we could sell land via Auction or perhaps I overlooked that part. Only thing I saw is something about buying, whole lot and one brief thing about if a buyer doesn't pay the auctions what will happen.

They have not released any full or partial sims to the auction block in days. Not sure if it's technical difficulities or VAT panic.

Closed auction history is gone with this new system. Residents can't start auctions, but they teased this potential for the future.

I think that it's not completely gone. I was browsing the new auction site and somehow brought it up. It listed all the completed auctions and had a number of them that had been placed there during internal testing. I went back later to look at it again, but I have been unable to find it since... It must be a pretty obscure way to get to it, or I was dreaming.

*edit*

I found it again... You have to do an advanced search for auction listings and tell it to show closed auctions too. This was the result I got with no text specified, and a date range of 1-1-2007 to 10-9-2007, including closed auctions.

I think closed auctions were available under advanced search for awhile till LL realized it, then closed that down. It's not at all obvious to me why, nor have LL stated a reason AFAIK.

re: /327/65/215574/1.html

there are mainland plots up for auction but none are showing on the new auction page.

the consensus is the new auction system is stuffed.

I can't even find advanced search on that page...

I just clickd on the US$ Land Auction link, and it gave me a paragraph about not being able to find any. The advanced search was in the number 5 item to try.

------

Search did not return any items.

For Search To Better Assist You:

1. Make sure you spelled your Search Entry correctly.
2. If you are searching for multiple words, use AND to broaden your search. For example, instead of searching on "red widget", try "red AND widget".
3. Try your Search again with new field selections or fewer criteria.
4. Try your Search again using words or phrases that mean the same as your original entry.
5. Try a more Advanced Search.

Aye, and for even more fun, when there are listings like there are now, the advanced search does not show up anywhere. To get it, you have to search for something that you know is not there, then the 'Search did not return any items. ' will show up with the advanced search option.

Yeah I got no clue how to use it or how you guys made it do anything.
Not intuitive or even FD friendly feature at all
Thanks for being helpful and not nasty to me because I can't get the "search" to work.
LOL
Often even forum search is difficult at least for me now auction search seems ten times harder.
Just more reasons to not spend any more money.
Ebay search on Ebay for other items is easier to use then SL version of Ebay.

So.. The current auctions are all ending within the next hour or so.

I'm a bit surprised that they added so few and haven't added more. So what's next once these finish? A few more trickle in? A week of nothing? Floodgates open? People auctioning their own land?

The ability for us to auction our own land is a long way off.

I doubt the floodgates will be opening. At the most, we will see four sims auctioned at a time until the VAT effect is fully known. But that's just my opinion.
