What Does PG Really Mean?

Who says it is? You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

As I said before, PG exists because adults don't always want to be surrounded by adult material. While nudity in and of itself isn't "bad," human nature is such that you give people an inch and they will take a mile.

You can insist on your right all you want, but it doesn't stop the fact that anyone can see you and your stuff from two sims away if they want. If someone is exploring and observing how people decorate their homes, they may not care to see your wanker or you in the middle of a sex act.

Point is, you had a fairly accurate sense of what you were getting and now you're upset that you got it. You have only yourself to be mad at.

And, I own a parcel in "mature" that is mostly filled with Anime cuteness and a Japanese skin store is probably the most "mature" sight to be seen there. That and some of my slideshow picture frame. (^_^)

Anyway, you have to get an AR to get in trouble anyway. If an avatar strips in the middle of a PG region, and nobody is around to AR it, it didn't happen. (^_^)y

I bought two adjoining plots, both 512, on a PG sim because I liked the idea of living and owning on a PG sim. I am not moralizing about what other people can do. That's up to them, but if you're going to do R-rated stuff, take it to a mature sim. You knew that before you bought in a PG sim. I wouldn't buy in a mature sim and then whine about what I was seeing around me. It's easy to sell property in SL. If you don't like what you bought, sell.

I built a house with tinted windows that I'm nude in sometimes. No one can see what I'm doing in my house and it is private. The PG sims are set up so you do things which are mature privately, meaning not in full view of others. If I wanted to have sex, I can do that in my house. I think the PG rating applies to areas in full view. I have a 12-year-old son who will sometimes see what I'm doing on SL, and I wanted to make sure I didn't have to worry he might see content he shouldn't.

SL is a business, not an entitlement. The Lindens can do whatever they want with their sim because they own it. They try to make it diverse enough and enjoyable enough so people will want to give them money to keep the business going. There are employees that get paid to work for Linden Labs. They collect paychecks for working for the Linden corporation. If the Lindens wanted to, they could shut down tomorrow and they would be within their full rights. The democracy and fascism thing is ridiculous.

The key here is "private land in areas rated Mature."

Bear in mind some precedents, including the issue of nipples being removed from content in Burning Life as well as within the current SL birthday event.

Not saying whether or not I agree with it, just stating the policy.

Why in the world are we having this discussion? PG is PG. Mature is just that, and currently there are about a gazillion unclaimed parcels of mature land for sale at bargain prices. I just picked up a pretty little 2560 (spam free) of beachfront, by a resort, for a little under 7L$ a meter. I only had to tp around for a short while to find this and lots of other great deals.

PG means Parental Guidance - just like the movie theaters thats where the Term "PG" came from
Years ago they had rated X-PG-G-and R
they didnt have PG-13 that was later added from all the resent censorship in america

who are the parents supposed to be guiding if it is an 18 and up grid?
