My partner and I have the Rendezvous and it really is great for exploring, as long as the area you're exploring (or someplace sufficiently nearby) allows building so you can rez the vehicle. It can get a little difficult to maneuver in tight places, but is otherwise a wonderful way to free up your hands for typing.

I have to put in another plug for the Rendezvous! We absolutely LOVE it!
While exploring we can walk hand-in-hand, arms around each other, Storm can carry me in his arms or piggyback, we can swim together and (best of all for my tendency to get lost while flying) fly together. Either of us can initiate a kiss, one of 3 dances, relaxing, etc.
PLUS!! We used it for our partnership ceremony: We began facing our guests
hand-in-hand, then faced each other holding hands during the ceremony, it has a nice kiss animation, we faced our guests at the end of the ceremony with our arms around each other, then Storm carried me off the platform, and then we "flew into the starry night skies." MUCH nicer than having to hop on and off a series of pose balls for the same effects.
The *only* downside of the Rendezvous is that it does not work well at high altitudes, so we can't use it anyplace that is a skybox*
The Rendezvous designer happened to be present when we were considering purchasing it and provided a wonderful demonstration to me.
