Under the File menu, I believe -- upload texture and it will cost $L10.

What you really want to do, if you want to save the photo to your hard drive, is download it, not upload it. See this thread:

If all else fails, go somewhere quiet and rez a cube and make it into a flat panel. Apply the photo as a texture, set 'bright' to one face and stretch panel so photo looks correct proportions. Cam around until you are directly face-on to your photo panel and get it to fill as much of screen as possible. Then take a snapshot (to disc) of it. The open the snapshot in 'Paint!' or similar and crop any unwanted background.
I always take all my snapshots to disc anyway and upload them to SL as neccessary as textures. |

Im still having trouble getting to upload at any size other than 512 x 512 ... I can vary the size of all pics to hardrive but not the 10 linden upload snaps.
Has anyone else managed figuring out how to change the size ? _____________________

Not sure what you mean exactly, do you mean textures you make in an alternative size won't upload into SL other than as a 512 x 512? _____________________

UPLOAD is when you move a file upstream from your computer to Second Life. An example: Making a texture in a graphics program and uploading it and getting charged L$10.
DOWNLOAD is when you move a file downstream, from Second Life to your computer. An example: Taking a snapshot and saving it to disk. You guys are confusing me! Which are you trying to do?? _____________________

Yes, confused. Initially I read "upload". Then later I read 'from inventory to harddrive', which is "download".

I think this was about downloading, until Maelstrom asked about uploading
. But I might be equally confused. _____________________

But I might be equally confused. the term uploading is used when you pay 10 lindens to save a photo to your inworld inventory ![]() when I upload Im stuck with 512 x 512 shots although i know biggers sizes are possible. I just havent been able to find out how to change the size yet. _____________________

AFAIK, SL adjusts the size you are sending (ha, see how I avoided terms like upload there) to the closest multiple of 512 in each dimension. To get a 1024x1024, resize your pics to that before er... uploading. _____________________

I think we are supposed to be limited to 512 x 512 for File Take Snapshot Upload a snapshot, despite there being a place to enter values for resolution greater than 512 x 512.
I just set the resolution to 1024 x 1024, did "upload a snapshot" and the image says 512 x 512. _____________________
