4000 regions down again! If it didn't make me so angry, I'd almost be gleeful at how the Lindens wasted their WHOLE day fixing a problem just to BREAK it again. Almost.

just saw that, what the hell, they are going backwards

someone mentioned deja vu, hell yeah!

it's like going back in time isn't it :D

EDIT: and yes!!! \o/ my fire fox browser trick works again!!!! \o/ whooo hooo!!!!

That shows that thousands are sitting patiently in front of their screens and are waiting (include me). No matter what the Lindens do. Seems nothing will break the SL popularity ever. I guess that's what they count on.

Maybe they should call these Blizzard guys in so they could learn how to run a VR in a reliable way.

So the status blog stated ....

[UPDATE June 20, 2009 9:11AM Pacific] Our engineers are still working on bringing up around 2000 remaining regions. The region outages were caused by a power outage in one of our colocation facilities.

Now, I'm not sure if it's related to this new colocation facility but looking back at this paragraph from the press release for Terremark kinda makes me el oh el:

http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=120545&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1289108&highlight=

"From its state-of-the-art, highly secure datacenter campus outside Washington, D.C., Terremark will provide Linden Lab industry-leading colocation services supported by fully redundant power systems that meet the needs of today’s high-density computing environments. The NAP of the Capital Region’s innovative design, featuring robust security elements that exceed Federal government standards and power infrastructure backed by 100 percent service level agreements for the datacenter’s power and environmental systems, offered Linden Lab the ideal facility for the business-critical infrastructure that powers Second Life."

/me admires the pretty graph

Back to 4000 regions down again? Holy christ. How can one company be so incompetant and still make money?

I swear ive never seen so many people step on their own dicks and screw things up, yet still manage to keep their jobs at the same time.

I’m in but when I try to teleport:

Could not teleport.
Problem encountered processing your teleport request. You my need to log back in before you can teleport. If you continue to get this message, please check the Tech Support FAQ at: www.secondlife.com/support

“You my need to log back in before you can teleport.” … you mean log out? After 20 minutes of trying to log in, I’m in and you just can’t stand it … right?

Oni Horan well, id complain, but really, i do remember the times when this was a weekly occurance and that wasnt even SO long ago.

Ah Rhaorth, it's time for my favorite pick me up --

Kennedy Center Online
http://www.kennedy-center.org/multimedia/storytimeonline/alexander.html

I like how it goes from:
It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day - and no one cared
to
Because some days are like that ..even in Austrailia

The story is on You Tube as well - but i prefer the Kennedy Center Version because it has the pictures in the book and it's the author reading it :)

And Oni - i remember the month or three when it seemed like we on less than we were waiting to get on

Wish you all well,

Tawney

The region to which you are trying to teleport is probably still down. It may show up on map but it is still down. I'm staring at the void where the sim on which I reside should be even though it shows up on my map.
