From: Carl Metropolitan The SL History Wiki also seems to think that it's named Nerevoyde. http://www.slhistory.org/index.php/NerevoydeNeither page gives any indication of where those names came from. Both pages were created by Wiki user "Radslns"? Does anyone know who he or she is in world? Actually, from the picture on that page it looks more like they meant the void space between the eastern and western continents. Seriously, who is this person who just puts random names in the wiki? That is seriously annoying.

From: Maelstrom Janus I have to confess I didnt know the continents actually had names ...
what are they ? In order of creation, with indication of name origin (refer to the thread I linked in the first post to see a map of them): 1 - Sansara (assigned by mapper Dyne Talamasca, based on LL rejected name for Second Life) 2 - Heterocera (official LL name, taxonomic name for moths) 3 - Jeogeot (assigned by mapper Dyne Talamasca, Korean for "that thing over there", pronounced juh-gut; was named when it was half built and all the sims built so far were named after Korean places) 4 - no name yet 5 - Nautilus (official LL name) 6 - Corsica (official LL name)

From: Ava Glasgow Question What shall we name the unnamed continent? For what it's worth I prefer either Laurentia or Sartori.

I propose 'The Unnamed Continent', if it's good enough for Terry Pratchett, it's good enough for me. What's more it's been in use for some time now and no body'll have to learn how to spell it. Possibly 'The Nameless Continent'...nope I preferred the 'The Unnamed Continent'. Official submission...'The Unnamed Continent' Perre PS can't name it Laurentia as it's already in use..have that from the highest authority..the Governor of Laurentia himself, however after an audience with His Highness this morning I was informed he might be persuaded to give up the name but someone would have to stump up the 50 bucks renaming fee ( that price by the way is not inclusive of VAT..but it will be)

Wall Panagea, Gondwanaland and Atlantis seem like good ideas to me depending on whether youre into geology or mythology.
Alternatively I like Mondas or Telos.

Radslns also felt it appropriate to enter his/her sim and personal property into the wiki. And he/she created a bajillion links to nowhere. *sigh.* I spent a few hours sorting it out yesterday, will continue today after I wake up. I'm going to put Carl's maps up as well, since I haven't yet seen a decent one on the wiki. Whenever he updates his maps, I'll update the wiki ones.

Well the thing is, it USED to be okay for people to enter their personal properties n stuff into wiki, but well that was like 3 years ago when there was only one continent. Can you imagine if everyone did that now? I'm sure Radslns just saw that s/he could do this and was tickled at the idea. We just need to clean up the links n stuff. Besides, it's better than staring at Gimp for 6 hours, LOL. I'm just procrastinating.

Sadly Pangaea and Atlantis(big time) are both gone, Gondwana strangely is still available. When naming Laurentia I did briefly consider Hercynia. So my second submission is Hercynia. Official Submission # 2: HercyniaI hope you taking note of all these Ava...

Mari and I worked on the SL History wiki today; after much digging we(she!) figured out that "Nerevoyd" was misnamed. Nerevoyd is that funky little rectangular shaped group of islands SE off the coast of Sansara. The real name is "Southern Islandia," while the uppermost group of islands off the NE coast of Sansara is "Northern Islandia," which correlates to Carl's maps. Mari's working on fleshing out the details of the subcontinents of Islandia while I'm working on cleaning up links n stuff. Hopefully if you all check out the wiki and find new info and mislinked stuff, we can pull this shebang together and get the geography sections looking respectable.
One minor request: PLEASE don't add new categories unless absolutely necessary! That's what caused all this mess up in the first place. We had links and sublinks and cross links to "categories" that had one entry each, and gosh knows what else going on in there.
Does the Unnamed Continent have regions at all, that anyone knows of? Sansara, Jeogeot, and Heterocera have well defined regions, but it seems like Nautilus, Corsica, and the UC are rather undefined?
P.S. My suggestion: Nonnomen ("not named" in Latin)

Awesome work, Oryx and Mari. Perre, not to worry... they are just cleaning up some erroneous entries on the SL History Wiki. Basically one person was making up names all on their own and entering them in the wiki with no explanation. It was just something that we noticed when Mari found a name for the unnamed continent in the wiki. Also, we don't need to worry about the name also being used as a sim name, as the continent names are just for show... no system stuff is involved. In fact, I'd be quite surprised if there weren't sims named Nautilus and Corsica. I'll update the list with the new suggestions tomorrow or Tuesday. I have to say I like the "no-name" variations. But a name has occurred to me that I'm sure many in the Forum Cartel will enjoy. About 20 years ago a neighbor's cat moved in with us and had kittens. All but one we named and found homes for. The last one, for some reason we couldn't think of a name for him. Then he ran away and I felt guilty because I hadn't named him (I am bizarrely sentimental about stupid things!). So I decided to name him... get ready for it... Pie! Come to think of it, I should probably add that to the list just so Brenda will take it seriously.

TAV it is backwards for…
…and in 2012 when someone asks why it's called that, how many will still remember?
on a more serious note Emanon gets a vote from me

My vote goes to Nonnomen or Emanon as fabulous ideas, and to Oryx and Mari as totally cool pies for their work on the Wiki.

I think I'd name it Xyrioma or Riomaxy in honour of Mari and Oryx. But Emanon sounds good. Of course, it could be Dunlinden Land...

I think the real question is becoming: not what to name it but how! Someone with a whole lot of nerve needs to take the initiative (and no, not me).

My plans for taking promotional images of Boomerangia were scuttled by lag all weekend. EDIT: From: Desmond Shang I think the real question is becoming: not what to name it but how! Someone with a whole lot of nerve needs to take the initiative (and no, not me). I would, but the product itself is standing in my way
