Is this a new trend? I was reading replies to a discussion on going about Ricardo's certificate and the OP asks for the thread to be closed! Ok so my head won't burst not knowing the outcome to this, but my immediate reaction was, how rude.

Yes it does. Is there a cure?

I figure the OP thought the question was answered and in view of recent food fights it was best it be shut down and let to lay in peace before it deteriorated further.

Yeah.. Umm.. well, given that the thread had kind of wandered off topic into the realm of "What the heck did Richardo mean by 'cashing in," I could understand why the OP requested the thread locked.
At least we know exactly why the thread was locked.. unlike some threads. _____________________

So we're "Thread Owners" now? Boulder, Colo, became the first city in the country to replace all references to "pet owner" with "pet guardian." A few months later, two California cities followed suit. West Hollywood approved the word change on Feb 20, as did another California city, Berkeley, a week later. Berkeley chose not to omit "owner" entirely, however, but substituted "pet owner/guardians" instead. The distinction is meant to codify the special relationship people share with their animals, while also encouraging them to think of their pets not as property but as sentient beings. *snerks* I'd rather be called an OP than a thread owner. Thread owner implies that I have some responsibility for what others have posted

Some jackass recently took offense at this one: A slow-responding government office was referred to as a "black hole" (i.e., things went in but never came out). The jackass decided this was a racist comment. _____________________

They know that the parasites in the media will run with this, and most likely it will get the attention of a bottom feeding lawyer as well $$$$$$ _____________________

I was planning to post something in this thread. But if I do, there's a big chance people ask for the thread to be closed, apparently.
So i better not. But what do you MEAN by OP asking for a thread to be closed? ![]() _____________________

For what it's worth the person that asked for the thread lock did so before any discussion of Ricardo's post began. It just took some time for it to be done. She PMd me to ask if she did it right and that was way early in the thread. Her reason was because she got the answer and was afraid of it turning into a flame fest later.
So, it was not in response to discussion around Ricardo's spot on post about the arrogance and self-importance of some people who think they are gods because they own a shop or create things. I just gave you an avenue to continue that discussion line if you like. ![]() Anyway..just thought I would put what I knew about it out there. _____________________

But what do you MEAN by OP asking for a thread to be closed? ![]() For example, I start a thread that says Damani homes are awesome (and they are). Then the thread takes a course I don't like so I report it/PM someone and ask for it to be closed. Some people have made a habit of that when they don't like the way things are going. _____________________

I'm not in the habit of bashing anybody. In the thread I just asked for some clarity, to be able to judge the situation objectively.
For me the whole situation is water under the bridge, and i'm currently much more enthusiastically waiting for the moment the Gor sim is blown up by the ottoman shopping nuclear weapons specialists. _____________________
