Like Linden Lab will ever do anything about it. It's a paper tiger with no teeth or claws. It's so easy to find camping place and place with bots all over the place and Linden Lab does nothing even if the offender is reported.

As a business owner and event coordinator and another few dozen things I do I find it just impossible to list an event anyone will see because how gamed the events listing is and getting my place any reasonable level in the listings because I won't use bots and camping.

So getting new people to find my place where they might actually have some fun, meet real people and not be confronted by mall after mall is pretty much a dead end road.

Second Life has become a place of malls with titles suggesting something fun might be going on there and full of bots and campers making it look like something fun is going on there but when you go there it's shops and shops of hard working creative designers getting shagged for rentals draining what little income they have because bots and campers don't buy things.

More new residents leave Second Life when confounded by these malls. They come the meet people, socialize and have some fun and yes do a little shopping but when faced with empty mall after mall and a few bots and campers somewhere hidden they start to feel SL isn't for them.

Some say the new general search is much better but rarely have I found places with people roleplaying and socializing through it because traffic only accounts for a small portion of the ranking. I like traffic, it's a way to find where people are and shouldn't be removed. Now all we really need is the paper tiger to get some teeth and claws.

Linden Lab: Have you ever thought that some of us volunteers would be happy to research places to seek out camping and bots, file a report and keeping you informed as to who we might think are breaking these rules? God knows you don't seem to have time for it.

It is? When did that happen? I know that they banned the use of traffic bots, but I never saw anything about banning camping. And I just read through the TOS and Community Standards and don't see any mention of it.

Anyone be so kind as to supply a link, or at least a direction of which doc it's burried in?

It's not quite so cut and dried, it is traffic gaming that is against the rules, and they aren't making a distinction between campers and bots. They also left room for bots and camper-type devices to be used if they aren't there to game traffic, and the difference seems to boil down to judgement calls by LL.

Normal camping is not banned, providing the land is not listed (ticked & 30L payment) to be included in Search.

Using the anti idle is fine except most of the camping places now have pads, chairs, poles that after short time ask a question. You need to answer the question in a set time or it boots you. Upshot is they still get the traffic and you dont get the money

Orb of anti idle. I don't camp but it's good if you are going afk a while to get the phone & aren't sure if you will be gone a while. If you don't wanna start over, tp there again blabla.

Why? You can turn idling off in the client.

Add the Advanced menu with ctrl + alt + D and then uncheck Advanced > Character > Character Tests > Go Away/AFK When Idle.
