that this should be renamed the "What do you think about this" forum since that seems to be the majority of what is getting posted these days?

The old RA is dying quicker than I thought it would.

Maybe the new Linden mod is taking the wait and see approach... seeing who will slip their heads into the noose.

Hmm, what do I think about that? ;)

Well, the Jumpman is back, and Strife is gone. I think it's a free-for-all.

It seems an awful lot of questions are based on "please help me with my problem because the Lindens don't care, so I have to take the law into my own hands and need to know what the most socially acceptable solution is."

The inmates are running the asylum.

Much better choice for the name. I agree.

For some, that's a very short thread.

Aren't we all wise enough to police the forums ourselves, if a thread is suspect and someone has posted that it is so, it doesn't need another ten regulars to state the same, let it die for god's sake.

Also if it isn't being moderated well, which it isn't, some threads that would have been locked ages ago keep getting bumped, just try and not post.

At this point, I think the most appropriate name for this forum is "General"

Beat me to it Travis.

"General" or "General Discussion" would about sum it all up.

Things seem to run in cycles. We have had a couple days of discussion posts. In another couple days, it will swing back to more tech stuff.

These forums are far from being out of control. Even with Jumpy back there is little to no flaming or trolling going on.

The inmates aren't running the asylum, because there are no inmates. We are adults, here of our own free will. I think most of us know not to crap in our own nest.

I love to not have the record as the last post on the old General Discussion forum! I really would gladly give up that title to have it back.

Also, keep in mind that Aki Linden is probably in training right now, since LL is renowned for not planning ahead ;) IF there is training involved...

Since most questions, if not all, are being answered, RA is a good name for this forum. If questions like "How do I do this in SL?" or "Help! I'm stuck" were being ignored, I would agree that something would have to change... So far, all's good IMO
But, as someone pointed out, some threads (rare) don't really deserve being answered when they're obviously just 'trolling'. In that case, let them die a quiet death. This is the best and only way to keep them at bay. The more we answer these kinds of threads, the more we will see of them here.

Unfortunately the 'let them die a sweet death' is impossible in this forum... we just have to respond.. maybe its part of human nature.. from the days of cave drawings, when they were offensive, we just had to draw on those drawings with a "Ugh ugh!" (Translation -> you suck!)

Hmm...maybe those bison drawings were really making fun of others...hmmmmmm....

LOL! Caveman language!

What Chris said is true... dont get me wrong Brad, I LOVE getting silly in the posts when it is apropriate (not at anyone elses expense is when it is appropriate) and certainly we have enough sillyness to go around. And everyone is faithful and quick to speak out against flaming, trolling, and (cough) getting off the subject.

I guess we will welcome the new Mod soon enough...now all we need to do is figure out a way to train the new mod...

I've noticed that myself. Gives me pause to read the forums nowadays. Prob'ly woulda left already, but it's so impossible to look away from a train wreck. :-/

Will never work. (Educated guess)
