As I may have mentioned in a previous thread, I had a shop selling original clothing, because of lag caused by neighbours and my 'ideal' for the shop being spoiled by ugly looking spinning signs etc popping up all around me, I decided to close up temporarily. I also thought that I could really improve on my designs and creation and bring them up to a standard that I could be proud of.

I'm not selling right now, but I'm still busy creating. I've come up with a design that I call "Boleyn", kinda based on Anne Boleyn, one of King Henry's wives. It has a few different skirt options and prim attachments which I've made for the first time. I would really appreciate feedback from other residents so if you'd like a copy of the entire outfit for FREE, you can IM me inworld or send me a message here etc and I'll send you the outfit. I'm NOT SELLING this or trying to make some cash, I don't have a shop at present so this is not a ploy to make people visit my location... I really would like some constructive comments and suggestions as to how I could improve my work.

I haven't a clue how to attach a pic, but it's posted on my flickr page.....

I love that style of clothing.

Some can make clothing and the like, not me, and some can post pictures:

Oh, and make sure you have turned on the ability to see pictures :)

Dearly Darling,

I did take several classes that encompassed many areas of Tudor History. I can help you if you wish.

You have a lovely afternoon.

Ever Yours,

I would love to try the outfit as it fits nicely with the sims I visit, and the style of clothing there.

I'm happy to supply feedback as required.

regards,

The photo of your work is impressive. In regard to your shop, you might consider putting it up in the air, out of view of the clutter on the ground. It is less laggy up there. Create a little tudor island in space, with a smaller eye catching landing point and business sign on the ground and a teleport up to your shop for people passing by. Most visitors will arrive by teleport so you can set the landing point in your shop up in the air.

Hi Pocket,

I mostly wear medieval and/or historical dresses.
I would love a copy of your dress to evaluate and I will definitely give you some good feedback on it.

Thank you *smiles*

Thanks so much Arch,

I did have it in the sky for a little while, but the offending builder, who shall remain nameless :-) put up a big sign with rapidly changin textures right beside it so I just had enough.

Anyway, I'm going to spend a little time working on things before I open up again.... Thanks for the thoughts and tips, I really appreciate it.

@Katie, Missfit and Gariele, I've just logged off SL now, but when I get back on tomorrow, I'll send you a copy... :-)

The dress looks beautiful. Were you able to achieve the flattened breasts and cylindrical torso of a Tudor gown? I would love to get a copy of this.
What's really funny is I'm making one similar to this for real to wear to a Renaissance Fair next month. But I'm sure my real life self won't look nearly as good as my avatar in this dress.

Hey Guys,

I'll send you a copy as soon as I log in. Regarding the torso shape etc, I wasn't really going for the exact look, just really a general flavour, but I'm going to look up a few historical pics later, and try to copy exactly the look and feel of a few different dresses....see how that goes. Maybe I'll try to come up with a shape that best fits the type of dress. Also going to have a go at some other historical periods of fashion. I'm working on a headpiece for the Boleyn outfit, I think it needs something more elaborate than the simple headband.

I too spend a lot of time in this style of clothing on SL. In fact, *smiles* am being partnered tomorrow in a Medieval style ceremony.

This outfit looks exquisite! Will happily pass on the word to my friends when you open shop again.

Hi Pocket. Looks great. I’m building a market at the moment and I will be looking to fill it with the small individual creators who produce the really good stuff in sl. I can provide space from just a single vendor up to 30sm and when I open the cost will be just L$1 a week until the traffic builds up, even then I guarantee to be cheaper than elsewhere. Search for the ‘Pegasus Market’ in groups, its free to join and you can go and have a look, check out the Market and the nearby ‘Retreat’ (also mine),

Roland, I am a budding creator - more like a wanna-be at this moment! But hopefully I will have something to offer and would also like to look you up. Thanks for posting the info.

Czari -Congratulations! That's very nice *smiles*

And Pocket, as I begged in my IM, I will look forward to it - it is exquisite!

Last night I had the pleasure of wearing a Pocket Pfeffer original, as well as hosting the gracious designer in my home. Thanks for coming Pocket and thanks again for the lovely gown. :)

It is a beautifully detailed art-piece. As a gown, it is exquisitely crafted and any avi would be proud to wear it.

As a piece of created content it can be appreciated on multiple levels. It is intricate, but all the parts work well together - things did not go drifting off on their own as sometimes happens when there are so many prims involved. The skirt flows when you walk and even looks good flying! I sat in it on a floor pillow and did not suddenly find myself obscured in a mound of ruffles as has happened before. There were two things that I found both appealing and perhaps in need of tweaking - because it depends on the experience of the final wearer as well as to how much effort the buyer will want to put into dressing. Having discussed this already with Pocket, I don't need to go into it here, but it is definitely a plus to me to be able to choose precisely where on my body the pieces fit best - I am not the typical SL Amazon Goddess and prefer a stature closer to my RL height, so, sometimes clothes don't work perfectly on me and not everything is "tweakable"

So - bottom line -gorgeous gown, gracious lady and can't wait til she opens her store!

:)

A

Thanks Amaranthim for those great comments, and I've taken on-board what you've said and will change the outfit accordingly. It was really nice to be invited to your home last night, and I hope I didn't bump into you too much......I find it very difficult to move whilst on the ground... :-) I tried several times to log back in but to no avail. But you're welcome to my place anytime, no place to sit, nothing to do but you're still welcome..lol

To everyone else who's commented, it's been so helpful to me to know what different people think and it will really help me to make things that can be worn by everyone no matter what the shape, size etc.

Love,
Pocket

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that I've finally found a space to open up my shop, which I've decided to call 'Funky Regal'....... I've found the feedback that you all took the trouble to send my way, so very very helpful, and it was very much appreciated, believe me.

Anyway, if you'd like to check it out, just IM me etc and I'll throw a landmark your way....

And of course, the 'Boleyn' outfit is still available to any resident who'd like to try it out....

love,

Pocket

I have to chime in and say that not only did Boleyn look lovely, but to me your Winter Woolies outfit in your new store looks like a wardrobe MUST.
