Did someone just throw up all over the SL website?

Seriously, did someone just eat a lot of mint and then throw up all over the Second Life and XLStreet website? They are absolutely horrible, especially the new XStreet layout. They are completely sterile, it feels like I'm about to go into surgery. The old blue and white was welcoming and friendly, the new colours are depressing.

Also, the new SL home page is full of mystery meat menus now that negatively effect my SL experience. It takes me extra clicks to see transaction history and other things that I could do easily before with one click. That ontop of a now slower page load time and spinning circles while I wait for the menus to load, it's enough to drive someone insane.

But even then, what about the people with smaller resolutions? Menu space and size economy was clearly not taken into account. Thank god I run on 1920 x 1200 resolution because my other 1440 x 900 monitor makes it painful to visit secondlife.com

I wish slexchange never sold out Second Life so that it would be one less thing SL could ruin and I hope SL makes their dashboard open source somehow so someone can resolve the issues while LL ignores this post and all the complaints as per usual as if there are no problems at all.

I like the changes.

Some people see the glass half full, others need to check their meds before posting.

I have mixed feelings about it. I mostly want to be able to turn off the damn XSL and event spam on my Dashboard.

It looks good to me but 96% of the time I'm at secondlife.com, it's here in the forums.

I'd rather it didn't display all my groups right there up front - this isn't something I always want to advertise to RL people. I'd also rather have it show more friends per page and put the ones online at the top. (edit.. er.. wait.. it already does online ones first.. /me claps! that was fast, LL!)

edit: so.. no more economic stats?

The changes look nice to me. However, I rarely use those pages.

They should pay some attention to - and upgrade - the forums aswell.

Somebody probably hated the blue and white when it was new!

And some people just don't like what is in the glass. :p

It is okish. Wish you could customize it to what you use on a daily basis though. And customize the colors too.

No, the actual motto is, "If it ain't broke, tinker with it till it is".

Having said that, while I'd like to be able to get rid of some of the widgets I'm not interested in, I am not that anxious to have the old website back.

Nor was I that anxious for it be changed, of course, but if they're going to fiddle with things, they've less opportunity to do any real damage when they're improving what they probably call "the user website experience" than do they when they have a bright idea about how to improve most other stuff.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with privacy concerns.

I've already submitted a Jira on the Friends display, which I consider worse because it can't even be collapsed. But groups have their own concern, as does the Linden $ Balance.

The basic rule should be that any information considered private within SL must be possible to suppress on the web site. In principle, I'd go further and say that it private information such as this shouldn't be turned on by default, but I'm willing to concede that it's extremely difficult to build a feature-rich web site with important features off by default and expect people to find them.

Try classifieds ..same old same old but more so . The more you pay them the higher you go .This is SL and Xstreet .This will kill small operations and it 's a crap way to go .Will it inflate prices? probably. If your stuff is cheap and reasonably priced you have no chance of being seen .This sucks.

The links at the top of the main SL page and the Xstreet page are the same so they both send you to these forums. The xstreet forums are still showing up on the sidebar though... weird.

I guess ppl in general nowadays just tend to criticize everything, i bet if it was going from the new version to the old version, the reaction would just be the same. :P

Upgrade around here means about the same thing it did at West World.

There is a link off the word "Shopping " at the top for "Shopping Forums", in case anyone hadn't noticed it.

I wonder if there is an RSS feed for the events listing.

I wonder if the Eventful.com site still shows SL events.

LL's idea of an upgrade for the forums is to close it down and move us to that pathetic excuse of a "forum" that is the blawg software.

I wouldn't have problems with the new design, if it wasn't so... needlessly cluttered and cold feeling in the colors. If I could change the sections to things that matter to me, as well as change the color scheme, I wouldn't complain so much. No, I'm not delusional... I love complaining and will find SOMETHING to complain about.

But this just doesn't impress me, though it does represent LL's best efforts. At what, I can't get, but it does.

Another complaint, it takes me like 3 or 4 clicks just to see my $USD balance. It's so stupidly setup, we can instantly see our L$ balance on login but I can no longer see my USD balance. I have to click through the mystery meat menu until I find it now.
