Or does SL truly suck like it did back in the days of the unverified influx? It's as if Cory flipped a "Go Back" switch before he bailed on LL.

No, this goes beyond the "it's the weekend" BS. SL truly is sucking the hind teat. Hoping the next big thing arrives soon, as it seems they truly have stopped giving a crap this time.

And now that I have scupltie hair, I walk around looking like a guy in curlers for a good ten minutes before the shape/textures rez -- and that's just for me. No telling what other people think I look like.

But otherwise things are working pretty well for me.

omg you guys are not even kidding...I've been having so much trouble in the last couple days. I went around all day with my scalp showing and nobody even said anything cuz it looked ok to me, till I saw myself from my husband's view on his computer..lol

Not to mention, has anyone else had a problem selecting multiple items by holding down shift or ctrl?

In my inventory, if I need to delete multiple items, I hold down ctrl and select the ones to delete, but it keeps unselecting the ones that are selected. I have to delete each thing one at a time.. same thing with prims, holding down shift to select multiple prims, it's doing the same thing.

It all depends on operating system. So much of what I read about never happens to me......not that it isn't a pain in the ass or that SL shouldn't be running at optimum for everyone.....but it's a program.....not every computer can run every program with the same efficiency. Also internet connection has a lot to do with it..... little glitches and peeks in use can make a huge difference.

I'm not disagreeing with this thread entirely....but if it really were all SL...then everyone would be have the same issues all the time, across the board. Honestly I can't imagine how they will ever maintain it perfectly with all the memory required...and the constantly changing/evolving environment.

The only place I have consistant problems is on OI when I mentor..... there's always tons of people hanging around...running scripts...particles.... wearing mega prim avatar suits and what not..... and inevitably I crash after 40 minutes or so trying to help people. And the entire time....everyone is bitching at how laggy and glitchy SL is...... but ya can't explain to new folks (very easily) how all that shit effects the game..... so what's everyone's first impression at OI..... that SL sucks and doesn't run properly. And the people that are there hanging out.....causing all the grief...know exactly what they're doing to disrupt the new players. *sigh*

A lot of that sort of stuff applied to me when I was on diallup, so maybe your ISP is throttling you a bit at this busy time of year with millions of people and kids online gaming

:D A long-standing and never-to-be-corrected problem, kind of inherent to how avatar appearances get propagated. It's not just hair: you can have varying Ruthness on others' clients, too, while looking perfectly normal on your own. And that pretty flexi skirt? Might be missing or upside down on somebody else's viewer. Oh, and you might be stuck in some very different animation--think of that the next time you hop on a random poseball! :p

Head up the butt is better than walking around for hours giving an arm raised in edit mode "seig heil!" salute and not even knowing it.

It isn't just prims either. Remember the times people are at the hangout and we see the Missing Texture outfit but they think all is well. Or the time that I saw all of my clothes, but the others at the hangout saw me topless. There is no way of knowing for sure. Hopefully, if friends are around, they will tell you if they see anything borked.

There is a open JIRA on this from July 2007.

This is a particularily nasty little bug, I think, so please go vote for it to be fixed!

I got to agree with this. I was Ruthed at Lindals party Saturday night but a rebake was ok. I occasionally lock and redmap over the weekend and I have sometimes frozen for up to a minute but regained comms. I think there are just so many variables here it's going to be impossible to nail down.

Ok, I had a girl come into my club the other day...I swear on all that is holy she was the ugliest thing I've ever seen.. Her hair was long, but only covered the lower half of her head and her face was smeary. It literally frightened me when I saw her...hehe

Now, I'm kinda bad about this with one of the girls that works for me, when I see a really hideous person, I'll IM her telling her about it, and she does the same with me. Well, I decided to snap a pic of her, which is something I have never done before (I'll admit that my motives were pretty crooked). After a while, she asked me if I was hiring, and I was like ..OMG I don't want to be rude, what do I do? I said to her "no offense honey but your gonna need to improve your appearance before I can hire you". She had no idea what i was talking about. I was so confused..how could she not see how bad she looked? So I gave her the pic that I took of her, and she freaked out!! not that I took the pic, but about how bad she looked..she had no idea.

So I think in the future, when I tell someone they need to fix something or other about their appearance, I'll take a pic of them so they can see for themselves, and from then on, most girls do appreciate it. I'd like someone to do the same for me if I look bad. :))

Not ecperienced any of the issues the Op mentioned. Infact SL is running better for me than it has for years.
