Did you know SL was on MTV today?

Just had an influx of newbies on Avatar Island (it is one of the portals into SL)

so we asked them how they heard about SL

they (just about all we saw) said they saw it a bit about SL on MTV

I wish I had seen it


We had easily 100 or more come through avatar island today... I think I am estimating on the low end, since the sim had over 70 in it at one point

Did you see the bit about SL on MTV?
If so, would you describe what you saw?

ya we had them at GOL..we have worked with them a couple of times the past couple of years..once with a music video and then they were doing a thing like real world but with sl..my old partner was really involved with getting the applicants ..i really just worked with the club and didn't have time for any of that stuff..maybe they did that show??

i hadn't heard about it since i left GOL a while back..

Ya it's Goddess of love but now they just keep that as like a symbol name..it's GOL Project now and the club names are Elements..i think the one they have now is just called the 6th..

but i remember more about that project..my partner i believe was getting the ones that were going to room together and then do the footage and follow them around ..i'm sure more would have part in that too ..but it was more or less like the reality tv shows they have on their..
i just didn't have time to go all the tagging along to watch ..i'm not even sure if they did it but..the timing would be right about now if they decided to film it then air it..

now i'm interested if it did get finished lol

was it Goddess of love you were at or was it elements..GOL2?cause if you were at Goddess of love then we may have worked together there i was one of the first girls hired so i'm sure we crossed paths =)

I worked when they only had one sim, first opened, if I recall

and the club I DJ'd at was named elements at that time too

however I visited about a month ago and it is nothing like it was
I liked it how it was

(If I remember, it changed hands (or at least management did) a few times too)

if the thing you speak of was like a reality TV type thing then that would not quite match what folks told me today

one person said that the show talked about people playing their own music and singing and such on SL

as well as just general stuff about SL

*shrug*

maybe I will check the mtv site see what I can find

the first one had two sims actually..one was for the club..then you had the sim that had the mansion and the pirate ship and bathing area..i think they even had a dungeon..i forget but yes the 1st one i loved the best..

and it's the same owner there only the wives have changed heheheheeh

Meh, I'm still waiting on Real World - Second Life to happen.

ya i thought that whole real virtual world theme was kind of strange myself..
i really never liked the reality shows in rl and if we were not getting enough drama in sl that was fine by me..i sure didn't need to see a show about it hahahaha

SL is shown in one of the episodes of True Life. I think the show is titled "I live a double life on the net" or something to that effect. There is a musician in SL who is one of the people they follow. She is from San Fran but I can't think of her SL name off the top of my head. They say it in the show tho and they follow her around SL and talk about the reason she is in SL.

thats it..thats what i remember them calling it ..maybe they just decided to change it to one person but thats the one..

Thye have replayed it a few times. There are 2 other girls in the episode too. One leads a life behind a webcam taking her clothes off for men for self confidence and the other cybers guys because she doesn't have the confidence to approach them in person. The SL girl has stage fright issues and plays her music in SL instead of RL clubs.

oh i wonder if i know who they are..i bet they got them all right there at the club..i remember my partner asking if i wanted an application for it and i didn't spend enough time in sl to be on it let alone had the time in sl to even move my avatar with all the im's going on hahahah..
you really had to spend a lot of your time in sl..i'm gonna do a search on this and see if there is any information on the net..

i have seen the girl they are following in secondlife before on you tube but i don't know her i don't think..

Her avatar really does look like her too. She did a nice job

simple: V is for video, MT is just what it became in netspeak... another spelling for EMPTY. (besides, WAYYYYYY back when they began, and actually played music videos 24 hours a day, more than 50% of the programming was still bullsh$#...)

There was a post in here a week or so ago about a band who've just shot their music video in here. British band, can't remember the name, but I'd heard of them as one to watch before I heard of the link to SL.

I'm pretty sure I have this saved on my DVR at home. If it's what i think it was, it was one of those true life shows and it was called "true life - I live another life online" ..you can google it and lots of links will come up.
