Question:

I've set the landing point (it was always set), and I've changed the Teleport Routing from "Anywhere" to "Landing Point". That should override TPs and land people at the landing point, shouldn't it?

I ask because it's not overriding the GO TP links.

Try it with an alt which isn't in the land owning group: land owners or group owners are exempt from teleport routing (forgot exactly which group power it's linked to).

Aha! That's the answer - thank you.

Also, the red arrow and beam appears so the precise item is pointed to. I didn't see those myself.

It's a bit much when we have to change things so much to overcome the affects of this theoretically good idea that they implemented without telling us.

You need to do some more trials. It only works great sometimes. Other times it's really bad.

You need to check all your items' GO links.

I did a dozen. I'm not up in the sky - maybe that makes a difference.

I think people are using it. Yesterday I noticed green dots arriving at unusual places, out of the blue. At landing points that are not advertised anywhere.

I'd check them all Mickey. Read my last few posts and you'll see why.

Well, I can't check them all...I think I have a thousand items out. I'll do another dozen.

I did another round - one item labeled Lily landed me inside a planter of poinsettias - but that's because I forgot to re-label the item. And one piece of art on the wall, landed me outside in the bushes.

But 22 times out of 24 landed perfectly. Not bad!

Something to note, though....I have a ton of items setting out in my workshop, that is up in the sky....so might get some drop ins up there. That would be confusing to people since it looks like a back room hodge podge.

Is that YOU in the bushes, Phil?

It's probably to be systematic.
Perhaps an offset from the centre of the root prim of the object on its x oy y axis?

Maybe, does TP work differently from within a sim? I ask because the item I landed outside the store for was from a TP from another sim, the item I landed perfectly at was from a TP from within the same sim. However both items are on the same wall with the same orinetation and both prims are exactly the same size.

Thinking about it though one was more central, maybe it is an offset issue.

Mickey. You won't get people landing in your workshop if the items there are not set to show in search. That's all you need to ensure.
