I made a group called Anti Ad Farms the idea is to gater enough people to fill AR against annoying ad-farms if we consider they are disturbing the sim someway.

Obviously no cost to join, simply search the group Anti Ad Farms. Or send me an IM so I invite you.

Hi Kahiro, this is a great idea. But, how could this be different than creating an AR ourselves rather than a group AR? What is the procedure you're suggesting?

The thing is that 1 AR is not enough. If we are a group of 50 ppl and everyone sends an AR that will make a difference. LL will look at it. Of course we must have good arguments to fill it, but that will be discussed in the group.

If there is an ad farm that we would like to be removed, would we join the group, send a group IM and a mass of people would come to check out the adfarm?

Nothing to make the future of the AR system more useless than using Mass AR's for every problem

Massive AR inflation is the one sure way an individual's Abuse Report gets drowned out.

Soliciting for AR's is considered Conspiracy.. I would ban you for it in a second flat if I had to sit here and read 50AR's that you instigated

 I'm sure you have the best of intentions but this could get sticky if you aren't careful. There can be a big difference in Violating the TOS and your idea of "Disturbing the Sim".

Yep getting your mates round so they can see a horror which affects you is one thing, it's normal social interaction.

Having a vigilante group is something else, laudable an entreprise as it is. Mentors are told when they start that they are not Police - neither is any one resident really.

Kudos for caring tho ... and it's def true about the ARs piling up = more chance of LL being ABLE to act.

If mass AR's are againss the TOS then there are other ways to do it. Like anti content theft group they gather in a place were a content thief is selling the stuff they contact a Linden and the thief too. They have lot of success. Of course this is a bit different, but there must be a way to stop these kind of ads.

C'mon LL wake up a playboy ad in a PG sim!!!!

This is a matter of principle. I can block the ad changing drawing distance. I don't quit SL because as a programmer and designer it opens my chances in many ways. This is not againts LL neither, this is against any kind of griefing act, like e-mail spam. Yes you have it all in a separate folder called Spam and just hit delete to erase them, but it's good to take actions when you can, and here in SL is possible.

You might wish to visit the Governance office hours sometimes. You might find that "spam-ARing" isn't necessarily preferred. Not dat I could tink of a better way, of course.

And now for the most important question...will there be outfits? Something cute and flattering? I like teal...or red, red would work. I need my stilettos, though.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

 Okay, I've got my new virtual terminal. Now what? (Surely nobody's still stuck using a Microsoft product--where in any case I believe the desired keychord would be just Alt-F4.)

So 1 AR / 1 response didnt work

So were going to use inflation ..

10 ARs / 1 response will work for a while

then

20 ARs / 1 response

Then

50 ARs / 1 response

The more organized the more we will inflate the threshold level.

I am surprised more people don't see the viscous cycle this creates.

I thank to the ones that say: "This is no good"

But I would like also ideas, instead of opinions. Ok massive AR's are not good, what can be done? Any ideas?

I'm not into politics, RL social protests don't get to nothing, but here in SL is different I saw the Anti Content Theft group make good things.

Can be applied to ad-farms in someway?

I'm sure you mean well and anyone that knows me knows how much I detest ad farms, but, sorry, I can't join you in this one. I have no interest in being part of a mob brigade. LL did the right thing by banning extortionist ad farming. Much of our landscape has cleaned up. Now is the time to allow the rest of them to give up paying tier by either selling their land at a reasonable cost or just vanishing from SL. I did a lot of AR'ing when the new rules went into effect, but the idea of a vigilante group makes me shudder.

As for your case, you might want to see if you can get a hold of a Linden to discuss it. Take Mari's advice and speak with the Governance team. You say ads for Playboy and Penthouse don't belong in a PG sim. I don't know where you live in RL, but around me there are very suggestive billboards on main streets for Hustler Casino and many Strip Clubs and on all of them the women are dressed the same as the ones on that ad near you. In fact, some of these ads appear on the sides of our city buses. Personally, I think those ads don't belong in a PG sim, but it wouldn't surprise me if LL thinks it's ok.

Maybe if they didn't ignore ARs, people wouldn't need to come up with ideas like this.

Seems the response to ARs the first few weeks after the announcement was just for show...

Uniforms, we need uniforms, with jack boots, not stilettos!

C'mon Annie. You know how little fashion sense fascists have. Probably just browns or grays.
