sorry for the unclear title. It is because I am unsure where to put this item, that causes the title to be so unclear hehe... anywho... I wish I knew, if I knew then I would not have to research to find out. (and I have been researching, trying to find more of these to see how others classify it, not helping they do not seem to be popular, yet) hey maybe one of you guys can help me... oh... yeah... the item LOL I just made a pierced back corset (non prim, all via textures) and am getting ready to do the ads and put it for sale. now.. my question is, placing it in my store. I have been trying to organize stuff, would this be considered jewelry? or should it have it's own category of piercings, or bdsm, or body art, or... (see my problem) I have a jewelry section, no bdsm, etc section, but would not be hard to make a section for that type of thing, and I have some facial prim piercings I could do up and put for sale (dunno why I never did heh) anywho, can someone help? added a snapshot so you can see what I am refering to

I would categorise it as body piercings. It's not jewelry or body art, imo.

would eyebrow rings, nose rings, belly button rings, also all classify as body piercings?
I know ear rings usually classify as jewelry (or is that only if it is one or two in each ear) once you get three or more does it become body piercing?

Body piercings would help people looking for such, certainly. I personally classify those as jewellry.

wow! nice work Rhaorth! i would classify it as body piercings. Body Art to me signifies tattoos.
Earrings I would think of as jewlery, no matter how many of them, because They are not on the 'body'. i think of the body as the Torso area.
Not sure if it would class as BDSM though to be honest.

ROFL thanks, and yeah ouch is right, I was inspired by a RL photo I saw, while searching for tutorials on how to draw and shade ribbons (for another idea I had LOL)
anywho, this is totally hand draw, so from it, I learned a lot about photoshop and myself

ROFL I love the little saying in your sig
reminds me of... why do they call it a drive way, when you park in it? (used to know lots more)
and yeah! what is up with superman ducking from the gun LOL
gonna go play some city of heroes, will check back later to see if anyone else suggests anything.

I certainly wouldn't put it in jewelry. Unless you call it body jewelry but that doesn't sound quite right. The ribbons are lovely Rhaorth. you have done a really good job with it! lol. i have hundreds of the things. It was torture trying to figure out which sayings to use. I have all of my confucious ones too lol. spose i could always change them to other ones in a few days.

Thanks clair, it is fun to look at it and know that I did that, free hand hehe
I think I will just make a little section for body piercings, and put out the few items I never tried to sell.
hehe at least it would be more than one item on the wall (although with 9 colors this will look like a few items LOL)

I'll have to experiment! Great interest shown in the other stuff, yes we WILL have to talk in world. /me watches detachedly as my brain does it's "fire off in nine directions oooh oooh oooh could do THIS!" way. Possibly business backing of a small nature available for you!

I'm a body piercing fan in RL and I would say that falls under body piercing. You see that more in body piercing magazines than BDSM ones. If I were wanting one of those for my avatar, I'd check body piercing, not BDSM. But that's me.

Jewelry! Thats' where I keep my pierced back corsets in inventory, prim or not, is a "body adornment" to me like any other jewelry, esp if you have no BDSM section? I like the one you made btw

I believe that anyone loking for such an item will probably expect the heading to be "body piercing". I think that particular practice is called "lacing" (but I'm not sure about that part).

I would call that a piercing (and a lovely one! Tho I admit I think the lacings should be looser - or make a version that bleeds when the AV moves, lol!).
In inventory, I recently moved all my piercings except earrings to be with tattoos, not with jewelry. This has turned out much better when I get dressed. I generally find tatts and piercings near each other in stores, and frankly when I wear piercings I am also usually in a mood to consider tatts.
If I had a large store, tho, I would consider putting this both in the Piercings section AND in the Clothing section.

From: Ravenhurst Xeno File it under 'O' for Ouch? That was what I was thinking. Though it looks well done as far as the designer end.

I'd file it under 'yummy', hope you're selling more than just the blue ribbons
but since you don't have that category, what's wrong with just sticking it in between sections... until you find (or make) a category for it... even 'other stuff' works

*reaches behind herself and starts rubbing her back* Ok, that made my back ache just looking at it, but it is so beautifully done! I agree with others, piercings looks about right to me.

(Don't even think about it, Xeno! lol) Personally, I would expect to find that under piercings. Keep up the creative work Rhaorth

I made a similar item and placed it under Avatar Accessories on SLExchange. It uses prim rings and textured prim ribbons. The textures for the rings and ribbons can all be changed with chat commands. Caution: Mature, not suitable for work http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=305376

I hope you both sell lots of those
I couldnt buy one though, it would hurt looking at my AV like that.
Someone bought me a posture collar once, made my RL neck slightly stiff watching.

ron I think yours might have been one I ran into (did not check your link yet, as slex links never seem to work for me) thanks to all for the generous words and the suggestions I think other stuff or body piercings might work yes I have other color options too hehe should have them up today, if I can stop playing city of heroes long enough I debated prims or clothing layer, ended up clothing layer, as prims did not quite look right to me they do not move with the skin properly for this type of thing. I could do a looser look, but then it just would not have the same effect hehe... hmmm now you got me thinking on that one, will have to give it a try, if for nothing else, than to just practice with photoshop oh and it does have a dripping blood version too.... (well drops of blood at the entry points of the rings) I put it on to take pics of course, and do not want to take it off LOL (also made a crop shirt to wear with it)
