Nobody on my ignore list can send me PMs, I believe. Is there any other impact?
Thanks (and chocolate pie) for letting me know!

# You will no longer see messages they post to the forum.
# They will no longer be able to send you PMs. I believe that is all the vbulletin ignore feature does. I only just realized the PM issue when you mentioned it. I just saw it as working like a Usenet style killfile before. |

OK, I'm not sure who you're talking about, but there are other reasons people can avoid your ignore list, and they include being a moderator or having your own forum. (It was possible to have your own group forum until mid-2006.) It's impossible to ignore SuezanneC Baskerville for instance because she has her own forum. (Not that I want to ignore her, I'm just using her as an example. )As mentioned above, it's possible that some forums are configured to never honour ignore lists. hmm.. okies... well maybe employment ops doesn't honour it then ^^ _____________________

Damn I was hoping you were right because that would solve the mystery, but apparently not. I just ignored somebody who posted there, and it wouldn't let me see their messages. Very strange. ![]() Hrm that *is* odd then.. I ignored her and later that same day, lo and behold.. I could read her newest post! hrm _____________________

the only time i see peoples' postings who are on my ignore list is when someone quotes them, as happened in this very thread... so please stop doing that.

If someone is on your ignore list, do you still see threads that they have started?
Cos if not that would be really nice. -Atashi _____________________

The mute feature can come in very handy. For example I had Prok muted before he/she was banned from the forums which saved me endless hours of reading mindless babble.
Now I see that I can mute whoever is posting about someplace called Felonhall whatever that is. There is nothing quite like muting self servicing types who feel that we all are waiting breathlessly for their next round of babble. _____________________

The ignore list is a useful feature to help people in their quest to refrain from replying to posts from individuals who set their teeth on edge. When you can't be good, there is always "Ignore."

ignore is not just for people who upset you.... it's for people who are so close-minded that you just don't want to waste time skimming by their posts.

people listed as moderators (even of sub forums, or groups) will still show up, regardless of ignore features, even if they aren't a mod on that particular sub forum... minor annoyance

I once thought I had put someone on my ignore list, but then saw their next post. I went back and their name wasn't on the list. Make sure they are actually on the list!

Ignore lists are okay but i find it makes a mess of forums I have only one person on ignore but then the thread looksl like swiss cheese and they qet quoted anyhow so personally the best form of ignoring is to just not read and forget about the features

Ignore lists are okay but i find it makes a mess of forums I have only one person on ignore but then the thread looksl like swiss cheese and they qet quoted anyhow so personally the best form of ignoring is to just not read and forget about the features I have only one person on my list and I found that to be kind of true also. The good thing is they mainly posted nonsense so I don't think I was missing much even though it may have looked like it. Fortunately, they aren't around these days. _____________________
