I agree that blocking, if possible, is the way to go. We did that in Dimitrios sim and it works well enough. Unfortunately, since LL has decided to work on the roads, I've noticed the price of these lots going up.

Oh, and one new game I've run across are the extortionists who sell a parcel MINUS a 16m2 piece which they then set for sale for a ridiculous price. Newbies or the unsuspecting don't realize what's about to hit them after they buy what they think is reasonably priced land.

These guys will always have new tactics up their sleeve until LL actually decides to do something about this.

Until then, I agree, buy what you want for your projects/ideas, do what you can to restrict views of the ugly and enjoy yourself.

sounds like someone got sand in there coffe this morning, chill. was merly a sudgestion

what if everyone buys them all, so there are no 16x16 plots left (sarcasm)

Well when you consider they sell the 16's for 30k each then each one buys the a 512 or 1024 somewhere nice to carve up Better than doubling money, if we stop buying maybe the teir will get them.

Explain that comment to me, please. All I see is them doing good in SL and the only reason why there aren't double the number of spinning ads in our midst.

Hmm they may only stop them getting new land but you have to compete against their landbots to get in first.

Duh, smart people don't buy them at the extortion prices, they buy them when the ad farmers give up on asking an exhorbitant sum because they've been sitting on them for months and sell them at market price or lower. I will only buy them at the price *I* decide is reasonable - which is not a rate they will make a huge profit from.

You could be waiting over 12 months

We need a change in the land sales code, to reduce the maximum price of small lots.
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-894

Sammy I do like your suggestion. It is as you say, a more practical method than many others suggested previously. I hope people will vote for it to raise its profile.

:)

What would happen if a large group of people got together and sent notecards or IM's to these ad farmers (who I realise are probably alts or bots) saying something like:

"Hello. I noticed your plot(s) of land for sale in the ___________ region. Could you tell me please, what's it like to be a complete ass? Thank you."

I know. Just wishful thinking.

They'd probably just be happy to see their little plots of land were getting attention which is exactly what they want.
