For my stupid IM last night. I was in the middle of a discussion group and had a difficult time between the IM conversation and the discussion groups conversation. Asking how to close the IM to get rid of the conversation......oh Wow, I felt stupid. " just close the IM window and the conversation will go away...." Doh! LOL............I swear, I knew that!!! LOL!!!

/me saw the IM and didn't think it was bad. It was kind of a flood, lol ... but that's inevitable with chat groups.

Here, have a cookie.

How else were you going to find out how to end the IM chat? :)

I remember thinking that closing it would only stop it temporarly, until the next person IMed. So I asked, too!

We had a griefer at Madhu's wonderful get-together, so group IM was a perfect way to discuss dealing with him. Even if I wasn't allowed to orbit him, dammit :(

Thanks for the cookie Nika-

I just felt stupid cause after someone mentioned it, it seemed like common sense........LOL. Oh well..........

Besides the griefer, how did Madhu's event go last night? I wish I could have came. I haven't met any of you in SL yet, would have loved to join in the fun!

You don't need to apologise to us ALL.

Many of us would not have seen your IM as we are not in the same group you are referring to, presumably. This being Residents Answers and open to any member of SL.

I bet your IM was not as stupid as you feel it was anyway.

Okay, time for a dumb question, which I think I asked a few days ago but now I am confused again:

as far as I can tell, closing the IM window does not stop the IMs from appearing in chat, right? You have to also turn off "show IMs in chat" in preferences, correct?

Just making sure...

(oh, and thanks Brann! :))

Semantics Cherry!! LOL.........I know not everyone here was a part of the conversation but there was too many people for me to list individually so this seemed to be the logical step. I felt the need to apologize for my stupidity........:)
Lucky for me, this is a very understanding group and I feel less stupid now then I did before I posted the thread! Thanks guys.......and girls!!!!

Stormy,

Although I did not actually recieve your IM's last night I cannot forgive you at this time. I need my forgiveness to be purchased. When you can teach me how to rig the SL avatar mesh/bones in blender or fragmotion I will forgive you, but not until...

Sincerely,
Lowen

No actually I did mean that. Besides, when you consider the idiocy some people display you definitely don't need to apologise!

Closing a particular IM convo window does indeed stop that convo from appearing in chat. To stop all IMs from showing in chat you have to click that thing in preferences.
Note: If you close a group IM convo once in a session it doesn't open back up if someone posts a new message in that group.

:)

Actually Nika, I thank him. Do you know how hard it was getting to be, taking care of all the women then need a little luvin? Now I can concentrate on providing a better quality product to all my fans.

Dont feel bad Trout, apart from the post I started on Phase II, I also get the silent treatment...Graph goes into doleful eyes mode seeking love and sympathy...(not getting any)

LOL! I dont think they are buying it Trout...may have to use a different angle!

i do forgive you Stormy, even though i don't have a clue what you are talking about lol.

I hope your party was great Madhu, sorry i couldn't be there.

Trout, i wouldn't worry about it too much, you still have the picture market cornered. No one can take that away from you. ;)

Try asking them to send you dirty pictures so you can tell them how slutty they look.

No. Wait. That one has been done.

/me buys a round for all the poor lonely forum guys and digs in his pocket for quarters for the jukebox.

Well, with the Superbowl coming up, at least we'll have something to do.

Graph - don't sweat the Phase II thing. Everyone goes through phases. I'm in a downswing right now because I have no home PC and I'm in the middle of a move. But I'm feeling pretty good about the forums and my friends here. It's just all over the place. Life is not a flat line. It's a rollercoaster. Enjoy the ride. When you're up, you're up and when you're down, you're looking forward to being up again.
