I'm back.
Sorta.
Haven't got it all sorted out, but I decided that I miss my friends here too much to just abandon Second Life.
Trying to get a stable viewer going, not having much luck. More news on this later.
All my inventory is gone. Everything I've made, everything I've purchased. I guess that's my fault. But it still irritates me, given how much shit continues to just hang in the air above the Second Life grid, abandoned. Some smarter priorities here would be in order, with regard to housekeeping on the data store.
Anyway, my friends list is also empty, so if you were a friend before, consider adding me again. If you weren't a friend before and are reading this post, ....
Cheers everyone, and happy 2008. Those who friend me will get the scoop on my life thus far.. Those who don't know me, well, let's just say that I made an error in judgement when I quit Second Life late last year. It was a dumb move, driven by real world circumstances.
Those who know me, remember me, and hate that I'm back, tough shit.

Client keeps crashing. would like to get in-world and stay there for a few.. will tweak prefs a couple more times, but god.. what a pain. And what the hell is up with the 503s? _____________________

Zaphod! *hugs!* Your wit and charm have been sorely missed here. You see about you random chaos. Strife is gone, 503 is rampant, and LL is ignoring the forums altogether. You missed all the fun "everyone is so MEAN" threads, along with the "ZOMG SL banking is gone!" threads, and don't forget the perennial fave, "Is it cheating?" threads. If you're interested in answering actual questions about Second Life, you'd be better off skipping Resident Answers and heading on down to Technical stuff. At any rate, yay! Glad you're back!

Everything seems buggier then usual. I would suggest you look to see what you have in your calling card folder if your friend list is boinked... but your inventory if you have anything like that may not load. _____________________

Hi Zaph! We only spoke a couple of times, but welcome back!
Did your inventory disappear because you deleted the account, or because of really massive inventory loss? If the latter, a support ticket has, for some people, actually helped!!! [I know that's hard to believe, but the Lindens did do this massive push on inventory loss a while ago, and not only is it happening less, but they have indeed restored a bunch of stuff]. Of course, as of a week ago it's impossible to use the website due to 503 errors, but that's another story ... . _____________________

Which brings to mind that Strife's well intentioned pleas for discipline and calls for ResMod Volunteers was nothing but a line of BS on LL's part.
