Yes, and the Terms of Service.

LL have the right to ban you forever and instantly for any reason they wish. Or no reason at all.

That is not under dispute at all by anyone. You are answering an argument that was never raised.

Actually, there are quite a number of realistic looking animal avatars in SL. I'm working on some as we speak, actually, and we will be releasing the first set, Big Cats, in the very near future. I wasn't asking about fictional entities. I was talking about bestiality.
This is why I ask, as I'm pretty certain that within a few hours of the first AV being bought, there will be one of them on a poseball somewhere, doing the nasty. Possibly minutes.

I'm just curious if depictions of having sex with an animal are illegal and whether or not people will eventually be banned for simulating sex with animals. As someone who has a vested interest in this, I think it's important.

I had a nice conversation with a horse once. It never occured to me that he would look that way because he was into beastiality, maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, I'll never know. I was just fascinated by how cool his avatar was (and he was miffed at my insistance on calling him Mr Ed). :)

Atheist Ferraris, you're missing the point.

This is not about 'thought crime'. It's about an activity between consenting adults that produces depictions of child pornography. This depiction... these images of kids having sex even in avatar format, is illegal in germany as well as other countries. It appears that it's illegal in the US too - see here.

As was pointed out many many pages ago that article is poorly worded. Infact, it's blatant misinformation (which really isn't a surprise, all-in-all the FBI has a pretty shady history). The very law that article refers does not include drawings, anime, cartoons, and/or comic satire.
