Hi all !

I need to buy a laptop for me.I Don't have money enough to buy a MacBook Pro with a 8600m GT Nvidia. So I just can buy a Apple MacBook with a x3100 GPU.

and I 'd like to know if it is a good idea or not.Can some tell me about the experience using SL in a MacBook like this ?

My 2nd option is a HP with a 8400m GS and Core 2 Duo standard PC with windows XP (because I hate Vista).

I really with to buy a Mac, but I can't feel safe.

ty all !

You may find more help if you post in the Mac Discussion part of the forums. I did find this thread though,

Personally I would go with the HP, and with that hardware Vista would run great. there is nothing wrong with Vista on a Modern up to date computer, I use it in my shop in a production environment on state of the art gear. Vista Upgrade do however suck, it needs to be a clean install....

as for the Apple, there are a lot of good reasons to buy a Mac, just no good ones......

While I consider the whole "Mac or PC" thing a matter of preference, the ATI graphic cards tend to cause problems with SL, which would make me lean towards the HP with the Nvidia video card.

I run my Alt on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an ATI 1300 and even I can see the difference between the Nvidia & ATI stuff.
